I realize this is a bit late - but ty so much for the compliments -means alot . I will look into fixing the nightvision issue and your request for HUD off default.
I will look into this nightvision issue asap. My apologies as I took a break from modding. You will laugh but I haven't played enough to get them so it may take me a bit to fix if I am able. Thankyou for trying my mods
Downloaded this hoping toggling hud off would remove the lightbulb that shows up when night vision is used. It did not work sadly, but other than that the mod does pretty much exactly what's promised except for the VSV which still has glow sights. Also it should be noted that turning the glow sights off on survival mode also hides the gas mask watch pointer, annoying but not a big deal.
Really great mod. Cannot stress enough how good this makes the game. The removal of those dumb glowing lights is really just a side feature of the mod but really helps immersion so damn much. The best part is the hud removal which is really well intergrated with a smart choice of hoykey used. No chance I would ever play this game without this after playing with it.
Just a single minor warning. In my game I could no longer use the NightVisionGoogles with this mod on. If you try and put them on it locks your weapons and you can't shoot or reload and have to reload a save. But to be brutally honest I couldn't care less. I use IR sights anyway in the stealth segments, who wants to walk around this beautiful game with everything in green anyway. Who cares.
Another positive though. It even removes the menus when Hud is toggled off, so you can do things like respawn after a death or pause without any text or UI popping up unless you press the hotkey to make it appear. May sound dumb but it's super immersive. If you die you dont have a load of text to deal with that pulls you out of the game, just hit Enter and keep going, smart feature.
Seriously just use this mod. It's absolutely great. Apart from NV goggles thing I haven't found a single other bug or performance issue. 10/10. Love it.

I'm sure I'll figure it out by trial and error, but you don't explain the options: 1) what is difference between "Switch Glow" and "On Switch Glow"? 2) Toggle HUD is straightforward, but what does option "Auto" do? You say "Auto versions have a functional (Y) {view watch} key." but this does not explain what is affected.
It may be obvious to you, but not clear to others making a decision what to use...
Hey I wanna play ranger hardcore, but I only hate that I can't see what attachments the weapons I'm using / considering trading, have. Can you solve this specifically?

"Files marked "ON" are defaulted with sights in glow mode ON."
Auto versions have a functional (Y) {view watch} key.
If you use a different keybind for the watch go into "d3dx.ini" and change the KEY5 binding to your ingame watch key.
If anyone works out how to default the HUD to off instead of on please let me know.
