Strange. Got it running, but the game looks like dooky. Way worse than SK's forced HDR. I had been told by everyone on SK Discord this looks far better than SKs HDR, so I don't get it.
It's super faded / washed out and contrast is crap. What am I doing wrong?
SK Does inverse tonemapping which under certain conditions makes everything a bit overbright and pop. You could try to raise the game/ui brightness to 203 which might be more to your liking. Also make sure your peak brightness is set to your displays peak.
Real HDR will never pop 100% of the time, which is what Reno is doing. SK on the other hand is either better, or on par with other auto-hdr solutions.
Its also possible things really are messed up, use lilliums HDR anaylsis tool and make sure the data look right, at least for min black level. If you think things look off you can try the HDR discord with your data and someone could probably help you out there
Have you tried renodx on metaphor with special k running? I am unable to get the two to play nice, ends up with a black screen.
Tried all of the HDR settings, including what I think is proper: set to scrgb and native tone mapping (reshade), with reshade loading as an early plug-in. Something is obviously still getting in the way. Works fine without special k working, and special k works great without renodx. Really would like to figure out how to have all of the kids play well together!
I had the same black screen issue when running this together with SK. After a bit of troubleshooting on the SK Discord server, I got a different build of RenoDX for Metaphor from Kal (maybe an older one?) which works for me.
I've tried to solve this in a lot of ways, and while at first I thought that I fixed it by redownloading ReShade's dll, in reality the problem comes back as soon as I get the latest RenoDX build from here, so it seems the most recent upload doesn't work well with SK for some reason.
I'm not the OP or the other poster, and it's been a minute, but the snapshot build does work w/t special K, while I was getting black screen with the download here.
Can you please clarify how to use this mod properly? Should I set Dynamic Tone Mapping to On or HGIG and what are the recommended UI and Game brightness values?
