Hi all,

This is a mod to change the G44-9 assault rifle's damage type from damage (dmg) to stun (stn). The weapon will maintain all the other characteristics such as firing rate, damage level and auto-aiming, etc.

I made this mod because I love the stun character of the UN-ARC-NL assault rifle, but the look of G44s and its high firing rate. So this is a first step to weapon modifications that can change many things.

I decided to modify G44-9 but not any other G44 variants because I guess not many people would use this weapon given the low damage rate from the 9mm ammo. And also, it was the easiest when scanning the .lua files to match an id to this specific weapon. I know the G44-9 does not allow many more features such as complete weapon customization in many categories, but that can always be circumvented if you exploit the PC weapon customization glitch.

The .lua file with the modification is uploaded. Business as usual, you would need the QAR tool to unpack your data1.dat file, find and replace with this one, and repack the data1.dat. ALWAYS REMEMBER TO MAKE A BACKUP!

Have fun!

Update 10/6/2015

The new update of MGSV-TPP rendered this mod obsolete. I have updated the file to make it still functional. Refer to the previous instruction to see what it does. Apparently, files in the MGS_TPP > master > 0 folder are affected during the last PC patch. I just glimpsed through the file, as it appears 01.dat contains some textures or fox engine files (maybe new), while the parameters (.lua) that would affect gameplay are now moved to the 00.dat file (used to be 01.dat). The new patch also made the files in the 0 folder epistatic to the data1.dat file found in the master folder. In other words, any change you have made in the data1.dat file might not be working anymore, since 00.dat now makes the call.

Extract the 00.dat file using QAR_Tool. Then navigate to the following folder once your extraction is completed and successful:

\00\Assets\tpp\level_asset\damage\ParameterTables

Change the one and only file in this folder with the updated file I just provided.

It took me about 10min to figure this out and made the changes. So report any bug you may have.

Have fun!
