It's no good, this mod is just unstable. As much as I'd love to fix this, TPP just wasn't designed to load more animals.The best advice I could offer is just uninstall the mod when you experience a crash. I'm sorry that I can't be more helpful =/
Using the default version and IH, it crashed for me even when I turned off IH helicopter patrols (I did have vehicle and foot patrols on tho) so I'm just using the IH safe version anyway. I also found the animals a little more sparse than in Afghanistan but maybe I just didn't explore enough. Thanks for the mod tho, still endorsing.

Do you have a general idea as to where you experienced the crash? i.e north of the airport or southwest of code talker's mansion.
And yes, you're right about the sparseness. Unfortunately, due to the flat environments of africa, pop-in is much more noticeable. If I spread the animals out, the player would notice animals spawning in. I was extremely frustrated that kojipro couldn't come up with a more elegant solution to spawning animals, but it is what it is.
Mfinda Oilfields, outside the main entrance (with guard tower) I believe. There was another spot too but I forgot, it was probably nearby Kiziba Camp. There may be more spots because I don't explore the whole map very often at all.
Well if it's just a visual issue I don't mind pop in if it means more animals. But I understand if you want to leave it that way.
The problem seems to be because there was a helicopter in the area, for a sideop mission. Apparently, helicopters within proximity to 6+ jackals cause the game to crash. I had thought this was just patrol helicopters, but this seems to be a problem with ALL helicopters =/
I think I have to scrap the normal version of this mod if it's causing this many issues with helicopters. The IH safety version seems to work just fine, though.

It was also a gameplay issue- during my playtesting, I would end up accidentally driving over a pack of zebras right as they spawned. RIP
