The avatar's head cannot be directly replaced, the only way it can is if you pack the head into a particular outfit which even then causes crashes.
If you mean using the hair method then yes it probably would work. If the eyes don't match then you would probably be able to just adjust the sliders on the eyes for it to match.
I wonder if I could null out all the robotic parts of the face and use the human parts to make a raiden in the tuxedo and human jaw like in the first cutscene of MGR

He would need to have the same eye placement for it to work right?

Also, Raiden's eyes would be expressionless while the bottom of the Avatar's face would be moving. It would look pretty odd.
