I'm confused on the purpose of this mod. are you removing suppressed fire period? because suppressors do in fact alter the soundscape of a gunshot and make it harder in some capacity (maybe not like in a bond film or a spy movie) to tell what made the noise. to remove the usage of suppressors entirely is likely incorrect.
the point of this mod is to have soldiers recognise that they're being shot at with suppressed weaponry, because without this mod soldiers ignore supressed gunshots fired 20+ metres away, which is wholly unrealistic
You basically answered your own question. I don't know how to make them realistic, I doubt it's even possible, but in any case their main use is for recoil and to prevent hearing loss to the shooter, so they won't really have much of a gameplay meaning anyway (that is, the guards will hear the noise in any case). Just getting rid of them is the easiest thing.
fair enough. i wish the game designers for stealth games could implement some sort of perception system that affects the different variables soldiers are sensitive to at random. like shadow of mordor where its randomized and tailored depending on the situation. so say if you were by a loud waterfall the game would pick up that soldier johnny A couldnt hear the shot but soldier johnny b could because he was on the opposite side of the waterfall. i guess i mean that its possible to manipulate sights and sounds so if perception were a primary factor in stealth games it would be a game changer.
p.s. thank you for the reply now i get the purpose of it.
The point of using this kind of mods is that you don't virtually/artificially/in-a-fake-way manually restrict yourself, but you actually change the game. This is generally more immersive and better.
An actual difference, though, is that you don't see the suppressor UI at all, in the weapons selector. So it's really removed, and you cannot equip it accidentally.
I see, good mod but can you do something about the stupid enemy detection, they spot you in like the desert with desert camo on or in greenery. Even i couldn't do that in mgo3, don't get me started on tanks and manned weapons
EDIT: Can confirm it runs on FOBs, no suppressors. Maybe if it were integrated into IH or Zeta it could auto-toggle off during FOBs. Please consider this, for regular SP gameplay I think it's great but not so much for FOBs.
