v1.2 = Drop Your Geat v1.2 with Input time variations
Now you can choose between 5 Input Hold time versions.
    Hold Aim+LightSwitch for 0.5, 0.7, 1, 2 or 5 seconds to drop currently equiped weapon/support weapon.
    Please install just one version.

    v1.1 = Fixed terrible mistake with the credits in the description of the mod page and in the mod itself;
Fixed the bug on Snakebite instalation.

It works to good effect but if I call another weapon, as in to have extra weapons in the field, the game deletes the one I left laying there. I installed this mod out of fustration becaouse the game only allows one (hip, back, support) weapon at any one time. Unfortunatly this is not what I was looking for but it does allow at least one canonical use I can think of: don't you hate it when you pick up an enemy's weapon when you're trying to pick up the body? Well now at least I can separate the space you need to work with here; gives you options.

I would like to point out though you have to manually toggle the weapon's flashlight in the weapon select wheel becausethe weapon tends to drop rather fast. I think aim + x key should be like 5 seconds instead of 0.5 seconds.

      Hello Glen!
Thanks for using and testing the mod!

On the topic of game confusing inputs: I completely agree with you, I found myself constantly in situations where I want to do one thing, but the game understands other.

This is not any mods fault though, it's a method of gaming design called 'Context Sensitivity', in which the game uses 1 button input to do many things.
This is a game design that is good to solve problems where the player need to do many things (pick up weapons, interact with bodies, etc), the problem with this is that in situations like you pointed out, game gets confused and you end up getting the weapon when you want to get the body, or getting the body when you want to get the weapon.
This happens a lot. Unfortunately, it's a game design fault, not any modders. Im personally trying to figure out a way to reduce this problem editing input timers, but I have not the knowledge on how to do it, yet.

On the topic of the time to hold the button input, I will edit the code and create another version with higher timers. 5 seconds is probably too much, maybe 1~2 seconds is enough? In anyway, I will post other versions with different timers for anyone to choose what they want. :)

Thanks again for commenting and pointing out your opinions.
      Take care.

Hello. You're probably already aware of this, but IH's quick actions already has the ability to drop your weapon, but with the call button instead of aim. However I will be using your mod because I prefer the method you created/tuppm's.

      Hello!

"Drop Your Gear" is based directly in this port from Aaoms of ThreeSocks3 Drop Weapon Button Input mod. :)
The difference is that "Drop Your Gear" uses NasaNhak idea of dropping weapons and equipment (that is, through "Aim+LightSwitch") and that it can drop also Support Weapons.

Give Aaoms, ThreeSocks3 and NasaNhak kudos and endorsements because because of their mods I got the idea and inspiration to do Drop Your Gear. :)
