Is there a way to have everything but the annoying pop-up tutorials? I like the radar, lock-on markers and such, but i don't want to be reminded of basic controls at every turn.
HUD editing for MGR:R through files is a big pain, there's no modular way to do it currently, if you want a very specific edit, you can do this; Download this tool and get it running: https://github.com/Aura39/DatsuEditor/releases Go to this gdoc: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1O_XhgWukn_jGQZ_8OOBNfAqFMEFeDy5fmrJJaRqnFg8/edit#gid=0 -Download the base hud file on the first sheet -Download the generic .uid hud killer files on the first sheet -Switch to the ui_hud sheet
-Open the datsu editor -Load in the ui_hud_(language you play in).dat file -Find which .uid is responsible for the element you want to remove in the sheet -Expand the .dat in the editor, right click on the .uid you want and replace it with the relevant generic .uid killer. -File -> save
holy s#*! thank you for this. The radar always kinda bugged me cause it was mostly useless. The only thing I would change about the hud now is make it a bit smaller but dunno if thats possible. This game would be perfect now if the camera wouldnt always lock on to stuff and if it had on the fly weapon switching, other than that i would maybe change zandatsu a bit but at least the ui is a lot more clean.
Hey! Thank you so much for this mod. I have a small issue though. Ver3 doesn't work properly for me in DLC, is that normal? When I have it installed for Raiden's gameplay the healthbar is gone, but when I play Sam it's there, just the fuel cells bar is shorter. I wonder if I did something wrong or if it's just how much you were able to do. Thanks!
Kinda late, but I had the same problem in the boss battles. Just replace ui_black.dat with ui_white.dat (Basically copy and paste and change its name) and it should work
Hey, I know it's been a while but I remember I downloaded this mod a long time ago and it worked fine, but now it is just as Veeika mentioned. However I tried ZioPao's solution and I couldn't make it work. What files shoul I copy and paste and rename? With ui_white and ui_black you mean ui_hud_black and ui_hud_white? If so, should I only paste one of those into my game? Thanks in advance
Late reply of a year again (seems like the trend here) and to answer you question, yeah it's ui_hud_black and ui_hud_white that you need to change the names of. So you rename the original ui_hud_black to ui_hud_white... and the original ui_hud_white to ui_hud_black.
Putting in a reply to this, the "Fix" proposed here not crashing the game was mostly just luck, it wasn't the right way to do it. I've redone the ui_hud_black edits to a much more "healthy" version, and uploaded the proper version this time.
Kinda confused how I'm supposed to use this mod. Do I replace the game data folder with the mod? Because some mods already do that like the FOV one. Also the small version doesn't even have a "GameData" folder inside it. It only has "ui".
Hello, I'm new in installing mod but this no hud mod doesn't load on me. Whenever I put the ui folder in the game data the game exe wont load not even enters the game but when I deleted the ui folder the game opens. Anybody have this issues? How to use this mod? In need of assistance, Thanks.
Edit2: To avoid the file limit crash, you can use this: https://www.nexusmods.com/metalgearrisingrevengeance/mods/444
Edit: Just remembered, you can ALSO just remove the other HUD files that aren't the language you're currently using. Simply leave in all the base Japanese HUD files (The generic files) and the files specific to the language you are using, and remove anything that's obviously not your language.
The game can't load if you have too many loose files, I don't remember what the amount is exactly but you can only load so many loose file mods at once. Your options are either delete your other mods, or manually extract the game's archives and repack the files yourself (Before you ask me for help with this, it's a process that can take hours, it's not something you're going to be doing unless you get in to it yourself.)

I've redone that part of the mod, and uploaded the correct file this time, should work fine now.
