You made a great modification that works in Kingdoms add-on. However, I am not able to run it in the base version of the game. From what I checked, you shared TGA files, which only supports the add-on I mentioned. The base game reads files in DDS format. You wrote in the attached file that this type of format should be uploaded to the DATA directory with the basic version of the game. Could you share this format as well?

Thanks and apologies Kfyatec, especially if you found your way here from TWC as I'd meant to post under M2TWK not M2TW, and because it's been many years since I played M2TW without the M2TWK expansion and my info was based on an M2TWK install already fully extracted and set up for modding. But yes you may be right, it seems M2TWK sees .tga modded files ok but the base game might still want the odd looking ".tga.dds" format?? Thanks for bringing it up. I'll look into it more asap but please forgive if any delays as I'm recovering from a life-saving major surgery done just 3 weeks ago and not actually gaming at the mo.

Update - well, Kfyatec, I've had a look but am at a loss - I made this mod many years ago when I knew how to edit such textures but can't recall (exactly) how/what I did, nor differences for the original M2TW. They work fine in M2TWK so for now am just revising the description. I am however giving you a kudos for time/trouble in finding and raising the issue.

how great that this mod accounts for about 11% of mods for this games mod page now . you had a bigger impact than me with 1 move, I am truly in the shade . good stuff

As always you are very kind Ashen! Of course, at the Total War Center site my mod would be a drop in the ocean, but I rarely go there.

I used to mod games of 90s & early 00s, under various names (most recently as "streety"). My biggest (a total overhaul for Combat Mission Afrika Korps) I had to take off-line for a copyright issue, then belatedly found out permission was withdrawn for a quarter of the assets I'd used and modified (many of the soldiers uniforms) and it'd be too much work to redo (and beyond my skill). And I took most of my other old mods offline due to concerns about a hoster back then. There is a published mod with me as a team member, Pike and Musket at Total War.Org for MTW (not M2TW). But M2TW is the last game I tried modding (10yrs ago) and these ships are the easiest to publish, being small and universal, whereas the rest is Renaissance-specific and a huge unfinished conversion.

Cheers mate, finally got it now - thought it'd be at TWC, I didn't have an account here apparently LOL.👌

Good! Well, I struggle to read/navigate TWC's main forum, even zoomed (individual threads are ok). Plus they never answered my query about Nord security warning me that my TWC name & password got stolen. So I avoid using them if poss & use a VPN if I do.
