Ahoy shipmates! This is just a small old mod I made ages ago of two ship textures in M2TWK. I've uploaded it, by request, on Nexus. (Note, as raised in a comment by Kfyatec, this mod currently only works for M2TWK, not the original M2TW - sorry, I've forgotten exactly how to make it work for M2TW).

Yes, there are a couple more substantial ship mods out there with new models. But I don't like them - imho all are either too big & fussy, or ugly rigging, or the banner faction sails are in the wrong place, or removed.

So I furnished M2TWK's plain cog with guns & gunports, windows for the captain's cabin. Notice few guns and none are much forward - that's because the foredeck's texture is also used for the cabin roof. Also, gunports don't perfectly match gun positions because although the same hull texture is used inside & out, Sega didn't align them properly - so I fiddled a compromise. I tried more gunports but they looked too fussy. But at least this boat now looks like a gunboat!

M2TWK's galleass had ugly black in-fill around the oars. But removing it results in busy/interference lines instead of oars. I "fixed" it by joining oars in pairs. Of course, they look too wide, but imho it's better than vanilla, and when zoomed in they look a bit ranked and not simply giant oars.

You can just use one or the other of these textures if you don't like both. And these don't change the other small merchant boats etc.

I've foldered the mod so after unzipping just drop into your game's main folder (or your mod's main folder if just using it for a specific mod). But just for info the extact path for the textures is: Your game's main folder (or your mod's main folder if using in a mod) \data\models_strat\textures

So, the two tga files should end up in that particular textures folder. If already using other ship textures make sure you back them up first!

This mod was done by me, by hand, using MSPaint (and Irfanview to convert between tga & bitmap), to tweak the game's own textures. I do not give permission to anyone to re-upload this mod, here or anywhere else. Anyways, enjoy!
