Clans is probably the best bet seeing how it's in UE5 and it will have the PGI mechs, so I'll make two versions: one with PGI mechs and one with classic mechs.
But I'm doing this in my free time and don't have a lot of time after jobs and family. If someone super rich could pay me to quit my job and let me go all in on the remake, then I could churn the whole campaign out in a year.
OMG please remake MW2 in it's entirety! It was quite a short trip down nostalgia-lane to play this demo but it was so good! The pacing of downtime and then detecting mechs powering up.. I miss this so much. And the story blurbs at the start and end. MW5 does some things right but so many things wrong!
Try as I might, I can't get MW2 or MW2:Mercenaries to work on modern hardware at an acceptable level. I would kill for someone to remake either campaign in a modern engine!
Modern Mechwarrior fails to have the feel of the old games. I am beyond all for your work its fabulous and beautiful. I don't understand why game companies don't produce the game then hire modders like you to mod it...purchase your mods from you and make them part of the game! Though all seem to lack anything between a mech bay scene and a map load. With piles of novels and canon stories written I'm surprised no one has cashed in on those to add a new flavor and depth to the game over time. Perhaps adding your home base defense or discovering star league caches quest lines with something between the basic scenarios and load in, load out style play. I have several friends who refuse to play mw online or mw5. But I'm almost positive they will want to play this! Were all old school MW lovers. I'll be sending links to your project to all of them! Others have beat us to the punch but I'll definitely be doing some videos of this project game play on our YouTube channel @worldgamersOrg !
This is the sort of mod that could actually get me to buy Mech 5. So many fond memories of Mech 2. I am particularly disappointed that the mobile field base mechanic was abandoned after this game.

I've been loving the classic mechs in the Classics Collection, and I always wondered what MW2 would look and feel like with a modern engine and mechanics. You're doing great work. I keep shouting it out on social media, whenever I get the time and remember. Well done, and I look forward to more wonderful work.
Quick question, tho: What's the difference between the two versions? I have the Jeehun Hwang version, currently, but I'm curious about the Timothy Seals version. Thx!
This is fantastic. I sincerely hope you finish the rest of MW2's missions, as it's been a game I've wanted to play ever since I got into BattleTech but couldn't because my PC crashes every time flame effects are on screen when I try to emulate it in DOSBox. Getting to play it on a modern engine would be an absolute dream come true.
