I wanted to run this with CAB installed, and saw nothing in the description that this mod would be incompatible with it. Unfortunately it does seem to be the case as the Wyvern can be found but without any weapon hard points. So they're essentially useless in conjunction with that mod. Since the CAB introduces numerous mechs and this only offers one (with its variants) I'm going to have to pass on it.
That being said I have played with it without CAB and it's a great mech. Perhaps one day I'll have my cake and eat it too :P
sorry for dumb question but is this + wasps& stingers compatible with coyotes mission pack? cause i have only your mech mods and yet another mechlab mechs+ yet another special variant and i cannot find whats causing coyote to not function properly
Thug is in Lore Based Mech Variants already. Mace just started putting all the new chassis in separate mods (at least chassis that are pulling meshes from the CAB, and not made by himself 100%), but LBMV already has the Hornet, Mongoose, Valkyrie, and Thug in it that Mace made from scratch. Only critique, hardpoints might be a bit limited on the LBMV chassis, but they're there, very well made, and very fun to use.
This is way cool...however! Why don't you add these mechs to your Lore based(YAML) mod? Like one stop shopping instead of adding 1000 different mech mods. Exaggeration, yes but it would seem less complicated to add it to an existing mod since its about mechs.
Mainly because of visibility, a lot of people don't know, that "Lore based Mech VARIANTS" also adds new chassis. If you want to get your number of folders down, you can just drop the pak files in "Lore-based Mech Variants - YAML Edition" pak folder or any other mods pak folder and it should work just fine.
e.g.:
Vanilla version works standalone and the YAML edition, well requires YAML and YAW (Wasp only).
Is the Inverse true if I get the hornet and valkyrie from your lore based mod and put it in their own folders will they work as there own seperate chassis, I don't see one for the Thug though if it's its own design.
The Thug is in the main file, but after I got tons of complaints, because it sucks, I decided to put every Mech seperate. Hence, if you get the Hornet, Mongoose or Valkyrie pak files from LBMV you can put them basically in any mod, just make sure the mod loads after YAML/YAW.
Would I just need the pak folder or do I need the resources folder from LBMV? Good to know then I could just put the .pak files of the other mechs into the wasp or wyvern folder and not mess with load order.
Holy WHAT!? The Wyvern?!? Awesome! This is really great to see, and really good to look at. Immediate download and endorsing as soon as possible.
Just curious, would you consider doing the 5UX as a 5U with standard 3015 tech? Once you remove the supercharger and CASE, it's a straight 1-1 tonnage conversion with the tech downgrades. The ER LL becomes a LL and AP GLs (Anti-personnel Grenade Launchers) become SLs. In fact if you ditch the command console, too, you end up with a few tons to dedicate to extra armor and/or heatsinks.
No matter what, you are doing amazing work and a very sincere thank you for the efforts you're putting forward to bring so many chassis and variants to MW5. It is sincerely appreciated.
That's fair. I hope you give making a 5U 3015 production version of the 5UX a good look. The true Urban specialized Wyvern.
The difference in the weapon loadout I mention is because the 5UX is a weird SLDF build; and the APGLs used aren't represented in any mod right now. However, they are only a half ton single-crit weapon . . . which is why I mention small lasers as a plug-in perfect replacement. Command Consoles are in YAEC, but I didn't think you'd want that dependency, which is why I said a few heat sinks are an easy swap. I suppose you could use MGs, too, with the free tonnage from removing a command console . . . the SLs just seemed more in-line with a typical Wyvern.
Your hardpoints already present on the 5NB almost are a 5U build, it would just need the torso mounts placed above the missiles (model looks like it already has nice little blocks up on the shoulders that'd work perfectly.
This is just such an awesome and fun build, while looking a lot like the model you're using:
Anyway, as always, a huge thanks for your efforts and everything you've done for MW5. It is incredibly appreciated.

It's not necessary for the mechs to function, only if you want the quirks.
