I absolutely love the original Marauder design, but the proportions seem off. I guess it resembles the Macross screen version a lot, but for me, the old metal Ral Partha Marauder miniature is the go-to reference. It has a slightly larger torso and looks the best.
I don't know if anyone else has noticed this issue with any of your other Classics mods, but the "YAML" version isn't that. The unzipped folder does not designate it as a YAML version, just a vanilla. I've noticed this same issue with several other classics mods: Warhawk, Hellcat, Mad Dog, Summoner, Hellbringer (not Ultimate), and Marauder. Wanted to let you know, since it doesn't seem to be all of them, just certain ones that have this mismatch.
Awesome! I really like the idea of different models being used for the same mech. Kind of like PGI and CGL mech models. My head canon is that the different models are actually the same mechs, but made by different manufacturers. That way you can have a mixed lance of the same mechs but with different models.
This is a real nice mech. I love the contouring and that alien-looking 'eye' at the cockpit glass. Thanks for this,and the other very well-done mech mods here. I must admit,after loading one into my mech bay,for a moment I almost expected to see some kind of design alteration,like some machine guns below the arm-lasers...Yeah,I know. It looked so alien,I dubbed the mech 'Alien' in the bay. :) Very sleek.
One of THE ugliest designs, I guess only a mother could love, is the Marauder that shipped with the game. Is there a mod that can replace those models with this one? I think there are variants of the old ugly marauder in variant YAML packs, maybe. I'd like an overwrite with just this model.
as much as i love this design. The game one is not ugly, its probably the best marauder design outside fan art and things like the sadly defunct blackhand marauder mod on steam.
"wear their inspirations on a sleeve." They literally were the same because they bought the rights to the designs of the mechs. Turns out that the company they bought them from didn't really have the rights to sell them, so FASA had to redesign them.
Please, when I try to use it at instant action it says that Marauder Classic is too damaged and can't be used. Version of Feb 7 YAML 1.3. Previous one was working fine. Also reported at Steam workshop, having the same problem (I know they are the same version, just tried to see if that one worked) Thanks!

So this Marauder is beautiful. I'd like to see it replace the original marauder that shipped with the game. Also need the variants, M, L, D, R, etc.
Yeah, in case folks call BS on me, just search up the Glaug and then look at the OG Marauder design.
