thank you ive been hoping for a mod like this for ages and now that theres a proof of concept maybe someone will pick up the idea maybe add a version that makes the mech a bit slower its kinda hard to control
Minor update. Learned how to make new weapons, how tonnage seems to effect engine speed (likely why the toads have such ungodly speed atm) and how variants are made. I can't fully edit the files since I'm a potato and can't figure out what I'm missing from the source download, but yaml will auto convert variants to function with it, so gonna see about downsizing mechs and making various BAs for use. No eta since it'll all be from scratch and also probably not the most lore accurate
Workaround for it to work on the user side of things. Remove "BA CORE" when looking at the mech, in its slot the text says "BA ENGINE SLOT". For some reason the core clocks in at 7.77 tons, while providing no stats. Now where you see "NO CORE INSTALLED" put in a ENGINE CORE 60. This will magically bring the whole tonnage under 1, with them clocking at about .73/1 ton. At present it will be usable, though your max speed will be 972 km/h. If you use the num keys for speed settings, 1 will be at 14 km/h, 2 for 120 km/h. I'm not a modder but it seems like all that would need to be done is use the mod engine to update the item files, perhaps the BA CORE is given engine like stats using mw4 merc (only game I can think of atm with built in battle armor) as a basis for speed etc. I make 0 promises but if I can get around to fucking with the editor and seeing if its that simple, I'll share the results.

also enemy spawn without engines - after exit dropship they cant move\walk to fight you - they spawn with zero speed
We tried it the first time in our coop session today and.. a biome with dense foliage like Old Forest (vonBiomes) and ECM equipped Toads as enemies... so cool and dangerous, too! thanks for the mod.
Has anyone else had an issue, where they can't place the BA jump jets anywhere on any mech, even the TOAD Battle Armour variants from this mod? I do have YAML installed, and added all the different Battle armour variants/ equipment with the save editor. Kind of makes it even more suicidal to use the TOADs without any jump capability. lol
Thanks for the reply. Love the idea of having Battle armours in this game, since my first Battletech game was Mech Assault 2 lonewolf. It still works great for enemy AI on the independent faction, loads of fun facing down large groups of these guys jump jetting through urban areas to get away from you. lol
Looks like PGI is adding a bolton cosmetic eventually that has modeled Elemental battle armors...if one could easily rip that and port and rig for unreal engine one could use it as a model instead of a resized vindicator.

This mod is stupid fun, and the perspective of the maps it gives are super rad. I even fought one of these little dudes earlier today!
