Any chance of getting just a really basic leopard, maybe without even the mechs, just the 2 NPCs lol? the Leopard makes my fan go crazy, it's fine in missions but the Leopard seems more resource-intensive than most maps.
When in console view, try to remove any Mech from the first row on the left top hand side. All Mechs below are available for missions, but only the first four are visible in your hangar. Should solve your issue.
I had finished a mission on a snowy map and come to find the HQ Truck had snow on top of its wheels and the vehicle in the corner was covered in snow but just on the top and stopping very abruptly in a perfectly straight line about midway down. I'm not complaining just letting you know.
Hah, that's kind of funny. I have an idea why both of those are occurring, but it doesn't seem like an important enough thing for me to go in and fix. I suppose we can all simply imagine that after taking a contract in a snowy area, the snow hasn't quite melted off those vehicles after being loaded up for travel lol.
The FPS loss is likely due to the lighting changes, same issue as the other Leopard interior mod that exists. Same solution as well for end user of turning Shadows down to Medium or Low. It seems the Leopard really doesn't like lighting changes, or perhaps it's trying to generate shadows from each light source? Maybe give a try with the default lighting but changed interior to see how the FPS holds up?
There are a lot of issues with the lighting, textures, and materials in the Leopard level, that's for sure. But I don't think the FPS loss is due to the lighting changes I made for two reasons: 1. because the only changes I made were essentially adding about 8 additional lights to areas that were a little dim when there are already hundreds of lights in the level, and 2. because even without making lighting changes, altering any of the objects required re-baking the lighting in the level before being packaged.
I think that other than the level being unoptimized in the first place, the issue occurs when the level is baked before packaging. I did try multiple variations of this mod including one with all the object changes but no lighting changes, and the FPS loss was still there. There may have been a way that PGI baked it for official release that was slightly more optimized, but I'm not sure.
Good to know that lowering shadows such as to medium helps performance a lot though! That's really useful.
The original PC lighting for the mech hangar was superior and any mods that add or change the mech hangar (like Leopard Expanded Interior) just really aren't worth it without it.
I'm not sure if that mod is still working with the newest update, but in any case no, it would not be compatible because each of these mods override the Leopard dropship level. I may tinker with mine a bit more and would consider redoing the lighting to make the level look even better, but don't have plans for that at the moment.

Edit cuz i found the actual culprit
