About this mod

Completely removes VTOLs, Igors, and Warriors from the game.

Permissions and credits
No More Tears

Works with Rise of Rasalhague
This mod was packaged before DLC4, so it is flagged as outdated. All systems nominal once overridden.
I will package a new version of this mod very soon so there is no longer an error!

Completely removes VTOLs, Igors, and Warriors from the game by killing them after spawning.

As a result, No More Tears should be compatible with ALL mods, so long as it's loaded last.

Notably, No More Tears works with the Coyote Mission Pack.
Any events that spawn VTOL units will instantly end right after they spawn, as if they were killed.

How it works:
This mod edits the abstractVTOL parent class and changes their "lifetime" value from 0 to 0.1, causing them to die instantly after spawning.
It should be compatible with any and all mods that do not touch the abstractVTOL class in "../Objects/VTOLs/_common".

If a mod does conflict with No More Tears, then try prioritizing No More Tears in your load order.
As long as No More Tears is replacing the data, it should work with most mods even if they do modify the parent class.

Important Notes Before Playing:

Accepting Cantina quests that ask you to kill Igors or other VTOLs will be broken.
The quests require you or your lancemates, personally, to destroy the targets,
meaning they are impossible to complete with this mod active.

(I am not a skilled MW5 modder. If anyone has advice on how I could exclude certain Cantina missions, I'd love to release a version that prevents VTOL Wardog missions from being requested.)

This mod will mess with the campaign tutorial during drone targeting,
so make sure you're loading a save file that takes place after it.
(Thanks, DankTemplar)

If another mission somehow breaks because the VTOLs despawn,
you can simply disable the mod and restart the mission save file.
No More Tears can be enabled or disabled safely at any time.

Installation:

  • If you haven't already, create a "Mods" folder in your .../MW5Mercs/MW5Mercs folder. (You should see a "Binaries" and "Content" folder.)
  • Extract "NoMoreTears" and place it in your .../MW5Mercs/MW5Mercs/Mods folder.
  • Enable the mod at the title screen.

Unimportant Notes Before Playing:
Any VTOLs that spawn immediately "die" and count towards your mission kills when they should.

Warzone missions may award bonus cash for the missing VTOLs.

It is possible that VTOLs destroyed by the mod may contribute towards your Salvage.
I've never been able to confidently confirm this, but I believe they do not.
