You don't need to change the default mech icons, which are similar for all mechs even hero mechs. Just add the small "Golden Atlas Head" icon in the corner of all hero mech icons. I desperately lack such small icon in the "Battlemech" section of the game.
quick heads up, i found this mod caused my in-game hero mechs to glitch and not function correctly with reloaded and another mech reloaded. basically the mods couldn't add the extra items and equipment to the mods so they don't function in-game.
This looks great! Working my way through Reloaded now, so I'll have to wait until later to install it; it's on the money though! Any thoughts to adding the hero paint schemes in conjunction with this? *wink wink*
Haven't heard of Superheavy. Is that the same thing as Assault mechs? There are 12 Assault hero mechs in the game, and these have been repainted along with all Light, Medium, and Heavy hero mechs.
I've not used Reloaded or MercTech, so did not put the mod through those paces. Yes, the MDA files for the Hero Mechs point to their new images. I wonder if there is a work around. I know a lot of players use those mods, so I will install them and see if I can figure something out. Thanks for the feedback : )
Problem is, they also modify mdas (for the custom hardpoints and slots), and thus either mod will override the other. If your mod overrides, the other will not have engine slots, etc. And vice versa, your mod's custom images will not appear. Only solution I can think of is that they (MagnumGB or Navid A1) include your ui icons in their mods and modify their own mda files accordingly :(
cszolee79, I am curious if the Reloaded and MercTech mods are compatible with each other. And if so, how do they get around each of them modding the MDA files?
