Decided to come back to MW5 after a while and gave this mod, the v2.4 beta version a try. It mostly looks great, but I am having an issue with some lights and shadows looking like they are not mapping properly. Here are a few screenshots.
You can see some of the shadows in the hangar have a bit of a polarized effect, and the same for some of these explosions and light sources getting some weird fringing. I have tested with only this mod enabled and still get the weird shading. Happens with both a vanilla engine.ini and customized. Raytracing disabled or enabled.
Any ideas of what to do here? Would love to use this mod as the parts that render properly look fantastic!
Welp, I'll never have this garbage both version between 1.14 and 2.4 again, it both still has a fatal error game crash in my opinion, so I might have go back to SEE lighting when it has a overly bright, because this mod was horrible, Ultra Visual and Weather is worse than Simple Enhanced Environment at this point, I'm sorry, but I tried, I'll never touch that mod again.
I have used this in the past and just came across the 2.0 when I decided to do a new playthrough. This looks SO GOOD, my only gripe is that the second intro mission is so dark even the normal NVG mode doesn't work well, I have to use YAMLs thermal mode to be able to play that mission.
Otherwise it looks and runs great, admittedly I have a high spec PC but I was getting ~300fps at 1440p ultra before and after installing this so no performance loss at all.
An incredible visual overhaul - feels like a several generation's worth of difference.
Using the new, experimental version and can't commend you enough - volumetric clouds in particular make a startling difference. I guess the only thing by way of feedback would be that you please continue, perhaps see about further optimising performance and creating further subtle variations to the weathers and lighting.
It even appears to be working fine with vonBiomes when overriding it. VonBiomes is a little arbitrary in style and some biomes look and perform like crap, but the sheer amount of new landscapes it adds (combined with Coyote's ability to select which ones are allowed) makes it worth pursuing a form of override-type compatibility on your part.
Coyote + vBiomes + Planetary Conditions + ultra Visual: so far, so good.
It looks cool, and I need more testing, but this really badly affects performance for me - especially combined with War FX, which on its own seemed reasonably in performance since my FPS was high enough (or maybe this mod does something to the particle effects it creates?). But now it pretty much cut my FPS in half in both higher FPS & lower FPS situations, going as low as 30 even for the latter.
Edit: Down to 13 FPS in some missions now... This literally drains 10 times more than global illumination from VonBiomes - even with the FPS tweaks listed. Absurd.
Is there a way to slow the speed of the clouds? They look fabulous, I just find myself comparing them to the ground and features around them and how fast the sunlight and shadows are moving relative to the size of my mech and I'm pretty sure some of these clouds are pushing the speed of sound out here. It almost looks like I'm cloud-watching in fast-forward if I just stare at a mountain and see how fast they're rolling over it and crossing the battlefield.

I disabled DoF, Motion Blur, Film Grain, Chromatic Aberration and set Bloom to 2.0.
My only wish is that you could also upgrade hangar in the same fashion at some point.
