It has been brought to my attention that the launcher/manager get flagged by some AV as trojan or other malware. There are several reasons for this:
The launcher actively checks, removes, and updates files.
There are DLLs packed into the launcher to make it more compact.
You may think, how do other programs get away with this? Well, most professional software pays for a certificate (anywhere between around 100$ to very expensive per year). Something I'm not going to do for a free tool.
The code is 100% open, I know this is not gonna mean much for most people who get this problem but there is not much more I can do for you, unfortunately.
With this mod and DLC 4 I am getting a strange issue where it does not seem to accept any mods enabled by this mod. When you enable a mod via this mod the game will say that all enabled mods are out of date and turn them off. If you manually enable the mods in-game it will work. On the bright side the mod load order shown in-game seems to be the same that the mod manager seems to show in its application.
Is the mod manager somehow tagging mods it enables with something the DLC 4 doesn't like since the mod manager pre-dates DLC 4? If I use the old mod manager this issue does not seem to manifest.
At this point in time, no one should be using this mod manager any more.
It lacks basic functions like backing up the default load order before permanently altering it, and as such, has no way to restore the default load order.
If you like the look of this mod manager, use "MW5 Load Order Configurator" instead. It's basically LOM but doesn't butcher the load order. Alternatively, MW5 Mod Organizer.
If you use this mod manager, to fix any mistakes, you need to reinstall all your mods. And that's not fun.
Thank you. I was using the MW5 Mod Organizer, but I will try yours instead. One thing I miss though is the LOM V2 showing green for the correct load order and red for still clashing mods. I know it isn't a perfect system. But I prefer it.
does it also permanently change the default load order position of the mods, with no way to revert it, leading to lots of things going wrong? also yes
please do not use this, use a non-destructive tool like MW5 Mod Organizer or MW5 Load Order Configurator. both are on nexus and being actively maintained, and both do not cause permanent problems like this does
Please do not use this mod manager, it is old and it screws up load orders. The YAML discord server gets a constant stream of people whose load orders are messed up because of LOMV2. Please save yourselves the headache and use one of the newer ones.
single best download on the mw5 mod page like, modding mw5 is fun but also a pain in the ass, restarting the game each time is annoying and the game interface makes it even worse to troubleshoot issues in loaded mods : if the game isn"t booting you have to delete the whole modlist and do it again bc steam mods are just numbers in the modlist with the load order manager : all the pain is gone
My in-game, main-menu, mod list doesnt respect the changes i made in the LOM. Neither does the in-game mod menu tho IDK if thats by design
Perhaps its because for "Vendor" I picked the GamePass Gamelaunchhelper.exe and not the MechWarrior5.exe?
(When I try to chose the MechWarrior5.exe, I get a window that says I dont have permission. Starting the app with Admin mode didnt help)
Does anyone else have this issue?
Addendum: I've changed the Game Version to Match, but no improvement yet -I'll probably crack and just get this on steam.....
-I failed to click Apply, yet despite this and downloading the Steam version, the in-game mod-list is Unchecked and unsorted. I have linked the workshop folder, i have linked the manual folder, I have linked the vendor. Both mod folders have a .Json in them. Game version is 1.1.355. WHat have I missed?
MAGIC!
I switched The Main Folder and the secondary Folders around and everything is checked and ordered in the game's mod menu!!
So I'm trying to wrap my head around what happened, but I was clearing some mods I didn't use, using this tool, and it just... Deleted my entire mods folder with all like 15+ of the mods I use and have configured in it. Not... Thrilled that happened.
Hello. I have problem using this mod. My game wrote me that versions of mods are out of date and disabed them. (Without order mod it is not a problem to launch) Epic version, Win11 pro x64, net installed, all dlcs bought in game. Solved. I changed game version to actual in line. Thx and sorry
But just a suggestion, maybe a feature to drag to reorder instead of just the Up and Down button. Sometimes it takes forever with 70+ mods to reorder with the arrows. Dragging and dropping would be a nice QoL update to have.

1. Mods are now listed from top to bottom.
2. To override another mod, simply put the overriding mod under it.

But other than that, great mod and very useful.
