- I've Added missile trails to the missiles that look damn good to me. Natural smoke characteristics. They are similar to the ones in my 2020 version but don't hit the performance so hard.

- Tuned critical to emit an initial quick explosion before the mushroom clouds. but it may be too quick too notice. Will change next update





What MedsMod Adds/Changes:

  • Lighting added to everything necessary. Like explosions and weapon hits and weapons. You will not need to use night vision because everything lights up nice. 
  • Lasers now emit light which reflects in the cockpit and beyond.
  • Lasers tuned to look more bright and solid.
  • Dynamic explosions. For a more natural look, different explosions are never exactly the same.
  • Added and tuned explosions to be more irl-like all around the board (some last longer, some last less long). And their colors tuned to be more slightly red.
  • Missile smoke that looks like silly streamers from vanilla taken away. Will probably add my own smoke to them soon (from 2020 medsmod).
  • Lighting added to missile exhaust, and tuned to be a lil more red.
  •  Added new critical that emits light with particles and extra layer of smoke (will probably make it more intense next update)
  • Mech Damage explosions/sparks added. When a mech takes damage where armor gets compromised or a part gets blown off, blue sparks with lighting will show/flash on the mech. You will even see it in the cockpit when your mech gets a part blown off.
  • Lighting added to weather lightning that now reflects off the land and your mech like irl.
  • Performance increases: Tuned alot of explosions and effects to although look better, be less of a hit on the system since they don't stick around sucking up resources.
  • Tuned various smoke to act more like real life
  • Tuned critical's first phase explosion to emit a strobe effect before 2nd explosion. 3rd phase critical now adds small explosions/flares that emit light after.
  • Added laser strobe hit effect for when your lasers hit a mech (emits small amount of light as well).
  • Changed clouds in missions to be lower or higher than normal and to move faster or slower than normal (to simulate different atmospheres of different planets).
  • Missile hit effects changed and lighting added.
  • Various other things I can't remember at this time 🤣

POSSIBLE incompatibilities:

Coyote Missions - I don't use it, but a person or two have told me they don't play well together. They get slow downs in frames during big battles. Unknown if it's my mod or another of theirs. Try it and see but don't be surprised.

This version I currently use. Lighting and explosions ramped up and more intense than v7778l how I like it. Will update and fix the sphere effect from critical though. Or take it out.

New version. Added lots of more lighting and explosion/other tuning. Lightning in weather now emits... light. That reflects off your mech and everything else.. So it now looks bit more like a storm.
Added some new mech explosions with lighting etc etc.

Started redoing the lighting and effects again after a giant break due to a giant health thing... Probably won't be doing audio as it seems to be a big pain. 

Unreal editor quits on me every 10 minutes but.... still remember how to edit the lighting and explosions and all that.

Maybe will update, maybe will not. But v4 I just put up is what I'm playing it with now.

Lasers from the old MedsMod have been recovered with lighting galore.. But added alot of other stuff updated like lighting and some mech explosions as well as a new critical.

  • Solace Ember 13100 - Main optimization, new explosions, lighting, etc
  • Lighting Love   - Adds Volumetric fog, light bloom, and kills Screen space reflections, film grain, and viginette for a better look at the cost of a lil gpu. I like what it adds if you can spare the CPU power.
  • WARZONE MOD FOR BIGGER WARZONES CODENAMED "EXEUNT"My wet dream... adds more waves and ALOT more allies and enemies for giant huge battles. To use it, select a warzone battle with difficulty on 100. I usually just do it in instant action.
  • Crosstasis Crosshair Mods (2) - Crosshair I made for myself that I find quite useful along with some minor minimap tweaks and power up. "Sharpshooter" version has a smaller aiming circle for precision shots.


     - Extra mods will be moved to "optional files" on next update to avoid confusion.

  • All Mods above can be used together (like I how I use em) or separate. If you want just the lighting but let's say with someone else's effects, knock yourself out. Should work.  Just watch the mod manager for conflicts. Same with Crosstasis, Exeunt warzone, etc
  • Exeunt warzone is fire as hell. It adds more waves and ALOT more allies and enemies for giant huge battles. To use it, select a warzone battle with difficulty on 100. I usually just do it in instant action.
  • Gauss explosion in 13100 tuned and set correct.
  • Lightning lighting tuned to be less flashy and bold.
    Various other fixes.

If you have a nvidia card that does DLSS, turn it on in the options -> display menu for more stable fps.

This mod seems to work best with rtx cards (ray tracing disabled) and with directx12 renderer of the game.


If you have a DLSS enabled card, do this -> 
C:\Users\(yourusername)\AppData\Local\MW5Mercs\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

and go to GameUserSettings.ini

Open in notepad. Look for DLSS sharpness. Set to 7.000000 and save.

For better performance, go to


C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local\MW5Mercs\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

Here we go: (Check last update as this is just the INITIAL things I changed on the first version I uploaded)

This a Visual + Audio Upgrade (MedsMod Audio mod included within/integrated). 
Ambient Lighting added to various effects and explosions. 

Explosions tuned/changed/juiced.

Muzzle flashes now proper size.

Missiles now have proper visual propulsion and trail, but don't kill resources. 

MMgun hit effects tuned. PPC tuned.  

Laser hit effects tuned.

Various other visual tunage for a more WAR effect.

Mech explosions tuned

Added lighting to various sources.


Tuned particle/spark system(s). Some had too many sparks, but you couldn't even see em.

Created my own effects where necessary.

Smoke tuned to act more like smoke.


etc etc alot of little things done that I can't keep up with as I had too much fun.




Instructions - 

If you have meds mod already (you don't need it though), might as well leave it in your mod folder. Unpack this one, and add the main folder to your mod folder in MW5. Open MW5, select "supermedsmod10" in the mod manager. Deactivate anything that conflicts. Restart.

If you see square blocks, you most likely need to update mechwarrior to the latest version.

If you have fps problems , try deleting your shader cache here C:\Users\(yourusername)\AppData\Local\MW5Mercs\Saved

delete D3DCompute.ushaderprecache_v2 and D3DGraphics.ushaderprecache_v2 files ONLY. Not the folders. Leave those alone.
