Yes, the only thing I can think of is to delete all the English subtitles, and just keep the foreign translations in the american.oxt file and turn the subtitle on. that way it will only show foreign subtitles.
Hello there, I just installed this mod and I see that the edited lines' font is now orange, while all the other lines are white. For some reason even some non-Portuguese lines are orange. Is this intended? Can I easily change it by doing some sort of mass replace after exporting the subtitle file?
I just wanted to say proper translation and localization is a rare beauty, thank you for taking the time to improve MP3's immersive world for english speakers.
For those who are wondering why it didnt work after copying and pasting the file, don't copy the file from the folder. Right click on the original american.gxt in the game folder using OpenIV and click 'Replace' then select the american.gxt that you downloaded from this mod. It should work. I tried it the first method and it didn't change.
Thank you so much, man! I get the whole idea is to make the player feel like Max and not understand a word of what the NPCs are saying but this will make replaying more fun and get to see what it is they've been saying after all these years haha! Will be quite cathartic I expect :D

...is what I would say if it was not such an amazing mod!
THANK YOU for this, it made my overall enjoyment of the game much better man, truly.
This is a MUST-HAVE mod if you ask me, really fills in those "empty" dialogue scenes for non-Portuguese speakers such as myself...
Cheers! 🍺
