Currently awaiting update... and for me to finish my current game.
Do you think the spell of Mastery should cost more? Less? Have no effect whatsoever? So anyway I made a few tiny mods.

The mods
Spell Of Mastery x10: Makes the Spell of Mastery cost ten times as much to research and cast.
Spell Of Mastery x3: Makes the Spell of Mastery cost three times as much to research and cast.
Spell Of Mastery Does Nothing: The Spell of Mastery does nothing. Feel free to ignore it; the AI will. If you see the AI casting the Spell of Mastery, please report it as a bug.
Spell of Mastery Div 2: Makes the Spell of Mastery cost half as much to research and cast.
Spell of Mastery Div Threeish: Makes the Spell of Mastery cost about one-third as much to research and cast (19960 to research, 1500 to cast). Threeish, because three does not divide evenly.
Installation
Extract the zip file into the ExternalAssets folder in your Master of Magic folder. They won't overwrite any files that come with Master of Magic. Rename "powerTrainingData.bin" in ExternalAssets to "powerTrainingData.bin.backup". The game will recreate "powerTrainingData.bin" the next time you start, which takes 15-20 minutes.
Uninstallation
Spell of Mastery x10
Open the Database folder in your ExternalAssets folder. Delete "PB_SPELL_OF_MASTERY_X10_SPELL.xml".
Replace "powerTrainingData.bin" with the backup you made.
Spell of Mastery x3
Open the Database folder in your ExternalAssets folder. Delete "PB_SPELL_OF_MASTERY_X3_SPELL.xml".
Replace "powerTrainingData.bin" with the backup you made.
Spell of Mastery Does Nothing
Open the Database folder in your ExternalAssets folder. Delete "PB_SPELL_OF_MASTERY_DOES_NOTHING_SPELL.xml".
Open the Scripts folder in your ExternalAssets folder. Delete "SoMDoesNothingSpellScripts.cs".
Replace "powerTrainingData.bin" with the backup you made.
