    ANNOUNCEMENT!
THE MELLO COMPATABILITY VERSION HAS FINALLY BEEN RELEASED!

Thank you all for your patience in waiting for me to ignore my perfectionism and finally release a version of this mod built from the ground up for MELLO. I hope you all enjoy it! Don't forget to tag any weird color situations you find in the bug tab! I went through every environment like usual to make sure but I'm sure I probably missed something.

Thanks for your support in making this the second most downloaded and endorsed Reshade on the LE nexus!

I have been so humbled and blessed by the support and appreciation for this small but affective "mod". You may see my work show up in other games here on the nexus, who knows. But until then,
    THANK YOU.

Please Consider Endorsing If you Enjoy! So Others May Find This Easier.

I recently completed my two playthroughs of the Mass Effect trilogy back to back, and your reshade, and I can't stress this enough, it's irreplaceable. I'll go one step further and say it's quite possibility the best reshade I've ever used and seen anywhere on Nexus Mods. I wish I could do more to show you my appreciation than just leaving this comment, but on behalf of everyone whose playthrough had benefited greatly because of your talent and hard work, our deepest and most heartfelt thank you. You should be proud of what you've accomplished and done for the Mass Effect community.

Oh my God...Well I don't think you need to be at all dissatisfied with the appreciation you've shown me. Evidenced by the full heart and the fulfilled purpose I feel. You, and others like you are the reason I spent the time for these games that have moved me so. I honestly can't imagine a nicer thing to read. THANK YOU! It makes me happy like nothing else to know this impacted and improved an already near-perfect game trilogy for you. I have nothing else to give then my humble thank you for taking the time to let me know my late nights were completely worth it...

Colour correction is always assumed to be easy - right up there with sound design - but it is deceptively difficult. For the first time, I felt the need to download a reshade preset because it is perfection.  You did an incredible job and you should be proud. Thank you for your hard work.

Just gonna mirror what everyone else is saying that this is a gorgeous reshade. It does exactly what a reshade should do, enhancing a game's visuals rather than distracting from them with blown-out colors and neon.

At first, I was nervous to install this because I already really liked the look of LE. BUT HOLY HELL. This is genuinely such an amazing Reshade I couldn't recommend it more! You've done such an incredible job on this, and it really does breathe more life and realism into the games. It's absolutely gorgeous, I can never go back to playing ME without this. Well done!!!

Wow The smile I get from reading comments like these make it so worth it! I am so glad I could breath new life into this wonderful game for you! I'm also glad I could overcome the ReShade stigma, God knows I'm aware of it (and most of the time deserved lol).

I think this is the first reshade preset I've seen ever that isn't just a gamma gain+ or oversaturation preset.

You are the hero we need but don't deserve.

I downloaded over 15 different presets, along with my own RTGI ACES custom preset, and to my wonder, your preset was so fine-tuned, that it blew my mind. I immediately switched over to yours. Wanted to fine-tune it further, but... I just couldn't see how! :))

"Perfect" is often a verb, in this case, you've found the adjective.

It's selfish, but I hope you keep doing what you're doing so I see this sort of work in other games too.

Damn it! And here I was determined to have a bad day, before you come along with you incredible words and make my week! Lol I am so glad you enjoyed my work so much, it truly was a labor of love and I am humbled by how much support its garnered from legends such as yourself.

Selfishly myself, I can't decide whether or not I should do a preset for Dragon Age Veilguard...Or even release my personal preset for Dragon Age Origins LMAO... If there is demand for it I will probably do it!

Would you want to see something like that?

I would replay Origins if you released your preset. I've been looking for an excuse to go back - your reshade would be it. Thank you for your artistry.

How do I access the adjustments if my keyboard doesn't have a dedicated home nor Fn buttons?

go into Reshade.ini and search for [INPUT] and find KeyOverlay there should be 3 sets of digits or 0s (0,0,0). Change the first two of those zeros to a number corresponding to a key on your keyboard you do have access to.

Here is a website list of keys and their numerical numbers you can put it as. i.e. mine is 36,0,0,0 which is HOME

      https://asawicki.info/nosense/doc/devices/keyboard/key_codes.html

      Hope, that helps, good luck!

Hi! Quick question, sorry, can't seem to find an answer. Planning to run ME2, installing COLOR is no problem, but I wonder if I should install something like MELLO, and if so then what? MELLO's page says it's for ME1, so I'm a bit confused here. Or is COLOR doing the same job for ME2 without extra lighting mods? Thanks!

The MELLO file is only for ME1. If MELLO is ever made for the other games I would consider making other versions though.

      Thanks for trying the mod!

I know this will echo what the entire community have already said, but: I've done 8 or more ME1 playthroughs dating back to its release in 2007, most with heavy modding, and this ReShade is simply transformative and the best I've used in any game. I cannot believe how much life you've pulled out of a game I know so well, and literally cannot wait to get to 2 and 3 to see how they look now. Thank you so much for all your hard work, really appreciate it!

Hey first time using a reahader here and.. damn. This is my 5th playthrough of the trilogy (first on pc) and wow this is what mass effect should look like. Tysm for breathing nee life into a beloved series.
One quick dumb question is there ways to make reshades work with hdr? Or is it generally just a better replacement to hdr? It looks great with hdr if it wasn't so bright lol
From what little I've gathered its better to just turn off hdr and use a shader or is there some way for them to enhance each other?
    1. "No it isnt HDR compatible sorry. I tried using HDR in ME and I couldn't stomach it so I designed it without HDR in mind."

Hey there! Thanks so much, Im glad you are enjoying it! Yeah unfortunately I didnt design this with HDR in mind so it wont work all that well. But if someday I do find a setting for HDR that I like and I do a rerun through I will post my new HDR presets :)

Considering that a different version was necessary for MELLO compatibility, I assume this would NOT work with any other mods that make changes to the lighting, right?

Not esthetically no. Without the correct calibration the shadows mid tones and highlights are gonna be crushed and not look right. Sorry about that.

That’s alright! Can’t use every mod on every playthrough. I’ll be really interested in trying this on a lighter-modded run where I focus more on perfecting the aesthetics of an otherwise close to vanilla experience.

Hi, could you give me some help?

I'm trying to install these reshades, my laptop has a resolution of 1080 p, and I'm a little confused about how to install them.

I downloaded the Mello compatible file for LE1 and the ReShade app.

I started up the ReShade app and browsed for the ME1 . exe file, selected the Direct3D 10/11/12 option

Finally I browsed the Mello reashde file and installed  it

Now the game won't launch and I think its because I didn't installed the "ME Color Reshade 1080p settings", because idk where or how, it's my first time installing reshades.

    Thank you in advance

      nvm, I get it now.

So my only question is: for LE1, which one should I choose, the 1080p or the MELLO option?

Install normally then overwrite with the 1.6 update file. Do not use the MELLO version unless you have the MELLO mod. Then once in game use the launcher to tweak the Delc_Sharpen shader to match your resolution.

      Hope that helps!

Hi, I'm using the MELLO version because I also have MELLO installed and I really liked how your reshade looks on Eden Prime and Normandy, but Citadel looks super bright to the point that some objects or characters even glow. I did everything as in the installation instructions, set ME1 gamma to 3 and play at 1620p via DLDSR. I only turned off chromatic aberration and sharpening because I'm not a fan of those effects. So it should look like this, or did I do something wrong? https://imgur.com/a/2ZCUSyJ

That is the in game bloom that can be turned off with another mod here on the nexus. The other shader that may be contributing to the brightness effect you are talking about it is the ambient light shader. Try turning that off. The in game bloom is really bad though I would try lessinging or turning that off.

Ok, I'll try, for now it's too strong only in some parts of the Citadel. I've done some side quests on UNC planets and I'm on Feros, and your Reshade looks amazing here :)

Ok so I managed to find a mod that disables bloom (it was removed from Nexus) and it is indeed much better. MELLO, LE1DP, LEUITM, Disable Bloom mod and your Color Reshade (MELLO version) and this is probably the best ME1 will look like unless we see a remake someday.
