Is there any way to achieve the function of this mod for the original ME3? I've found there are a lot of qol mods lacking on the ME3 nexus, particularly regarding notifications and keybinds.

THIS!! I DM'd the author on how I could do this myself for OT3 in February but they left me on seen. Maybe they stopped Mass Effect modding or something.

Any chance we will available to change timings like here with our Notepad++?

I need remove or reduce to 0 Paragon and Renegade notifications. Or edit this window to something else like "Codex was updated" instead "+5 Paragone". I just don't know where and how to edit it.

Or can you tell me please how to edit sfxgame.biohintsystembase.sfxnotificationdata.displaytime please (i made .xml file from your .bin and found settings like in mod in link)? I tried with package editor but is seems i need something more

UPD: i found Script Editor button in (Exp) 8024 BioHintSystemBase (Class), it seems i found a way to fix it (replace data). But still in progress how to find Edit button.
UPD2: in progress with mod Discord, it seems there is a way

    UPD final:
drag original Coalesced.bin (better do it with copy outside the game folder) into ME3Tweaks, go in to the new created folder, change Biogame.xml in Notepad++ with new details/edits. Drag Coalesced.xml into ME3Tweaks, get new Coalesced.bin and replace the original one

i wish the shorter notifications were just for weapons and weapon mods.

i use the sensible stores mod that makes them cheap to buy. it spams the notifications.

other notification types with this mod vanish so quick i can't read them. ( i set the option to 1.25 seconds, the longest option given)

Yeah, this is a tough one because different people value different things and that changes over time, the more games you play certain notifications become less important. At the moment this mod definitely appeals more to folks who have played the game many times and to whom most notifications are just noise.

Personally, I'd love to do away with Codex, Journal and some other notifications and reduce the rest to about a second. But even if I set the display time to 0.0 the game maintains a minimum display time. The flag to disable notifications is global.

The proper way to do it would be to create an in-game UI to allow players to choose. Another option is to create an external tool, like EGM does, generate the appropriate biogame.xml, and then produce the coalesce bin file. For me the latter is easier and more straight forward but not so user friendly.

This is definitely something on my bucket list.

Hmmm...  I've installed as directed and that seems to go fine.  However, there is no effect in game.  Maybe an incompatibility with the Community Patch and Framework or some other mod?

That's possible as I have not tested with either. I use EGM without the Framework.

The one rule that's always true is that if more than one mod changes the same values in the coalesced files, the last one loaded wins.

If you upload a log and link in a response I may be able to track the problem. May want to uncheck Full textures check, it takes forever!

Welp, there is a conflict with Expanded Galaxy Mod (LE). EGM changes the priority of several notifications; this causes a mismatch when Shorter Notifications tries to match and change the display time for those notifications. I have a couple ideas for supporting EGM giving players like yourself the option to reduce notification display time while maintaining EGM's changes as well.

For now, the No Notifications option does work as it simply turns off notifications. Warning, you will get hooked on this option. It was a little odd when I first tested it, but I can't go back. This is why I didn't notice the problem with EGM, I have long since stopped using any option other than No Notifications.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention and providing the log. Was a big help.

Version 0.5 with support for EGM is available. Thank you for taking the time to point out this issue, you've helped make Shorter Notifications a better mod.
