Posting this here for anyone else having the same problem - I think optional flirting mod doesn't work with this mod because it wasn't working up until I disabled it. So if you have both, just disable "optional flirting mod" before the date and re-enable it after. Also, this mod is so great! I'm squeeing thank you.
The load order for this one is 8547. Just wasnt sure if it all worked because all of the mods i had installed across the trilogy including my own stopped working the last time i played it. Also figuring out how to set up a mod where all files are optional and nothing is installed by default was a pain in the ass. But from my own testing it all works now.
After all these years... That was actually me who posted those lines in the link in the description (and couple other places as well). Would love to see other ones restored as well. I also tried to see what the "Afterlife dialogue" scene would look like using the xVAsynth. It was... not good at the time that I tried that.
Knew you would find it eventually. Thanks for sharing it. Im def gonna restore the memorial stuff. The romance scene is a tough one. The afterlife stuff was never recorded and the stuff that was would likely have to replace half of the original conversation. Im thinking of doing some merging or adding a dialogue option but i dont know yet.
Is this compatible with the community patch? I know both have fixes for Ash that fix her Date lines as well. Does this mod do more than the date lines?
As far as i know the community patch changes her ambient animation slightly before you start the convo and that still works. But whatever they did to the conversation wont work as this file overwrites theirs. This one also fixes any lines getting interrupted too soon and replaces the animation for the kiss with the one from the romance scene for both versons of the conversation. Does nothing else to any other conversation for now. Dont know exactly what else their mod does here but you can see this one on youtube: https://youtu.be/k-4jvMa7duo
The reason I ask is because the community patch fixes another bug with Ash (Flesh tone teeth in the hospital) that drove me nuts, so if it'd work I'd prefer to use both mods if possible. I'll make a post on the community patch page and see what they say.

That will still work. This mod only changes this conversation so everything else from the community patch will work fine. And yes they did Ash dirty. Fans fault. I will probably restore some more stuff but dont expect much bigger than this. Not alot of dialogue to restore except a few lines here and there. I was thinking of making some other cool stuff like turning ambient convos into cinematics and changing some animations in certain places but i wont have time to do anything for a few months. It took 6 months and 4 updates to finish this because i always work on it at 3am.

There are only 2 versions and both will mention the relationship they had in ME1 if you had it. The better version is the one most people get anyway and that one gets the new lines but only if you had a romance in ME1. Its the one where SHE asks "are we going somewhere" and to get it you just have to be nice to her, visit her in the hospital, buy her gifts, etc. In the other version Shepard is the one to say how they've been through alot and says he wants a relationship. Its difficult to explain how the whole thing works but if you are actually trying to romance her you are probably getting the better version.
Hi I just wanna ask if this really restore or continue the romance with ashley in me1? If so I would definitely try this mod out. And thanks for making this mod cuz I love ashley she's one of my favourite characters.
It only restores a few lines if you had a romance with Ashley in ME1 and you are romancing her again in ME3. If you didn't romance her in ME1 then you dont get the extra lines but either way you get a few bug fixes like better camera angles, new animation, no lines being interrupted, etc. The dialogue itself is exactly like bioware wrote it before they cut stuff out and did a shitty job of it.
It's good to see Ashley get some attention! She was so neglected; seems Bioware expected the majority of male players who want a female LI, to pick Liara (and even pushes in that direction). They added a bit in the Citadel DLC, but it was still pretty slim.
You mentioned if you updated this mod, you would make it a DLC, is that still a possibility?
So much i could say about this but i'll spare you a wall of text. Ever heard of a draft for ME3? Apparently stolen by hackers along with the beta some time before release. Lets just say they had far worse ideas for Ashley.
I will most likely make it a DLC with the next update but i need to figure some stuff out first. To only restore dialogue would be quick and simple and if i were to use bioware's lazy approach i'd restore 3 other scenes by the end of the day. Instead im trying to learn some more complicated stuff about editing so i can fix as much as possible about these scenes. Right now im working on replacing their stupid placeholder animations. If i decide to play around with this scene for much longer i will upload a DLC version of the file as it is now.
I actually think the Devs pushed for Ashley but hyper sensitive guilt ridden cancel culture cultists thought in one of her convos she called aliens dogs, when she was in fact saying aliens would treat humans like dogs and she was right! They went to Twitter and other social media calling the character a 'space racist" which isn't even accurate...as it would be xenophobia not racism and her character was doomed

Yeah its definately the fans fault. People never bothered to really get to know her. She never said she hated aliens. She simply didnt trust them and had every right not to. By ME3 she becomes good friends with all of the crew members and even says Tali is like a little sister to her and if you know Ash you know how she feels about her sisters. I agree with everything she said. Aliens have no business aboard a top secret space ship. The US military would never allow members of another military or even mercenaries to go snooping around their nuclear submarines. But people's accusations of racism screwed her and it really pissed me off because she was always my favorite.
I just wanna say I agree with the points made here, I myself have seen the "space racist" comment before somewhere years ago and I always thought it was pretty stupid.
For goodness sake in the entire 2nd game your working with the Pro-Human group Cerberus the whole time, but Miranda and Jacob never seem to get scrutinized to the same degree that Ash does for some reason. As if they deserve the benefit of the doubt or something. Ashley never joins Cerberus or does anything really that bad at all.
I know it's not really that important but that always did kinda bother me. I always liked Ash.
The funniest part is that she was proven right when she said "dont let aliens snoop around the ship". She was just talking about the wrong aliens since it was Tali who stole enough info from the normandy to build a stealth ship for the quarians.
Love that there is an Ashley mod. The only grounded character in the game and one of the few flawed female characters due to her own words and actions in video games the last 20 years
Can I ask a request? Could you make a mod getting rid of her raccoon eyes and pink lemonade lip gloss in ME3 that can be imported with ME3Tweaks Mod Manager? lol
I never tried making complexion mods and i dont really have the time to learn right now but i know theres already one out there with more possibly on the way. When i get back to modding my first priority will be more dialogue restorations(if i can find any aside from the memorial).

I reviewed the change log but couldn't find any mention of compatibly with Optional Flirting Mod.
