Is there any way I can make this compatible with Project Variety by using a custom patch or anything? I checked to see which files are changed by other mods I am using and BioH_Samara_CitSim was the only one that appeared under the compatibility section for Samara's New Armor. Or what if I just installed this mod after Project Variety to overwrite those changes?
As far as I know, they should both be compatible if you're using the framework version, no matter the installation order. Are you having issues while playing?
I'd like to report a possible bug. When used with Primitives - A Facial Appearance Overhaul, the default face seems to be overriding the texture from that mod. When disabling Samara's New Armor, the texture works perfectly which is odd because isn't this mod supposed to only affect her armor and not her face? I used both Samara's New Armor (MELE2) and Primitive for LE2 and had no issue. I'm currently using Samara's New Armor FW (LE3) if it helps. Hope there's a solution.
Thank you for the report! Correct, this mod only changes her clothes and not her face textures and texture replacers should work.
I looked briefly over the textures in the mod and everything looks correctly when compared to vanilla files, so I'm not sure why Primitives isn't working. Did you install the white version or the red one?
I installed the white version, and that's when I first noticed the bug. I thought maybe the problem was just the white armor, so I did a full game restore and tried installing the red version along with Primitive, but it had the same issue. Samara's new facial textures from Primitive will always get replaced by the default one unless I disable Samara's New Armor FW (LE3). Perhaps you could try duplicating the bug on your end?
Ah yeah, that's the problem. It's not really a bug, it's a change I made to the files for the white armor. Samara's armor decorations on her face is in her face texture and not on her armor which meant I had to "create" a new face texture for the white decorations. That texture doesn't exist in LE3 making it impossible for Primitives to find it with on install.
In technical terms, since I changed Samara's face texture the crc hash number was changed as well, meaning Primitives can't find it.
Only way to use face textures with the white armor would mean you'd have to find the primitive face texture, export it, then manually replace it with "my" texture. But it would also make Samara have the red decorations on her face instead.
Tumblr is where I originally found the concept art hehe. I also remember seeing it years ago and when LE dropped, the image immediately came to mind! But it was (weirdly) hard to find the original author. But I was so glad PSDO was still active and gave me permission! :D

Yeah, that's the post! I think the new design is much more aesthetically pleasing and prettier. Many of the "sexed up" designs Bioware did for ME went straight into "uhhhh... eh... what?" land. It stopped being sexy and just looks weird that makes your brain go "wait what" when looking at their ingame models.
Showing more skin doesn't always translate in something or a character being sexy. I think Tali's design is a good indicator of that. Her suit design is pretty.
Oh yeah, definitely, some of the armors and outfits got weird very fast. Ashley's default outfit (while not egrigous) is so annoying to look at because 1. Imo it doesn't reflect what kind of person she is 2. In the meta sense, why would she get the sexy outfit but Kaidan kept the old default military gear? Bioware pls make it make sense
I definitely agree with that, Tali's design is super good! While I suppose it could be seen as sexy as well, being skin tight suit, having all quarians wear the same kind of armor makes it less of a problem imo.
worked fine for the monastery and citadel meeting, back to vanila outfit in armax arena(maybe also when using EGM's feature of using old squadmates on n7 missions but i dont think i ever tried using her)
Just to confirm: She reverted back to her old armor, and only in Armax Arena?
I haven't kept up with EGM, but if the feature to add Samara to the party is there, she will be wearing her old outfit as a patch would be needed. But Armax arena should work afaik. Do you have any other mod that edits Samara in any way?
This is a gorgeous model and I loved using it for MELE2, so of course I picked it up again for MELE3. However, when I use the framework version's option for the white armor, Samara has a red headband instead of the gold one in the screenshots. I have the community patch + framework, and I don't have any textures or other mods that would affect Samara, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. The red armor is still great so I'll probably just use that one for the time being.
Nope, was just me who thought I'd been thorough when I tested the Framework version but had totally missed fixing the face textures. It should be correct now!
this might come across as a stupid question, but when you select samara in the arena for the citadel DLC, will her picture still be her default look, or will she have her modded look?

I definitely agree with that, Tali's design is super good! While I suppose it could be seen as sexy as well, being skin tight suit, having all quarians wear the same kind of armor makes it less of a problem imo.
