    Did anyone know how to fix Anti-Aliasing in Mass Effect Legendary Edition without DLDSR and 8K TV? Some effects from ReShade give result, but it will take a lot of *.fx for imitating work of TAA, they makes strong blurry image with ghosting, while needs just smoothing edges of objects and NPC.

    UPD "It's impossible. MELE uses custom developed UE 3, TAA was introduced in UE 4. ReShade can't fix something that has to be implemented in the game engine natively." - SyntheticSyndicate

      But does this fix the "black crush" issue?

      The "Black Crush" issue was on ME2:OT. ME2:LE with Unofficial LE2 Patch does not have it any more.

      @Yamakuzure where are you basing your information on? That atrocious black crush issue is still present, it's even described in the comments of the files as unresolved issue.

    Origin install paths (EA App appears to use the same path if Origin was installed previously, but I don't know if it always uses these paths):

    ME1:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Game\ME1\BioGame\Config

    ME2:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Game\ME2\BioGame\Config

    ME3: Probably the same path, but with "ME3" for the folder instead of "ME1" or "ME2". I haven't launched the game yet.

      not everyone installs origin at the same spot. if i recall correctly, by default it goes to program files(either normal one or x86)

    Hey,
    I am having an odd issue. Once I replace the file and start the game (ME2), all black areas become grey. The details are good, so it's not a black crush issue. It looks as if HDR gets turned off and brightness goes way up.

    Anybody else seeing this issue?

    I'll try to get some screen shots tonight.

      I think it is DoF - disabling it in user settings messes with post-processing in general (bad AA, brighter/flatter image, but hey, no vignette).

      See screenshots with and without DoF. Color processing, bloom, etc. all seem to be gone if you turn off DoF. I only managed to turn off vignette with DoF enabled (via key binding in coalesced), so I think it might be possible to disable this way DoF too. Or wait for proper .pcc mods.

      the game is black crushed with vanilla settings, in 3 it's probably even worse IMO. disabling DOF fixes black crush. i also found it to be flat without the extra post processing though, but reshade can easily fix that, with contrast curve setting that is reasonable, aesthetic, and NOT black crushing(200 to 450 in my opinion)

    First thanks for the shadow settings. They work great minus the LOD, which is not needed and can break things. My post is not to attack you in any way, only to help others. The only meaningful changes in this gamersettings config are the following. You can simply copy and paste this under system settings at the bottom for game 1 and 2. For lower end systems use 2048 for both max shadows. For game 3 they already have a MaxAnsiotropy line and you can just change that to 16.

    MaxAnisotropy=16
    MinShadowResolution=32
    MaxShadowResolution=4096
    MaxWholeSceneDominantShadowResolution=4096
    ShadowFadeExponent=0.0

    The rest of the settings from this mod either does nothing or can break things (LOD especially). As JadeBaker says below, disabling depth of field in the gamersettings destroys the entire post processing pipeline, all the effects and the AA solution. His mod does a great job at removing the WORST of the depth of field blocky stuff outside that ME 2 shadowbroker taxi ride which is probably just not fixable. We would need a completely different solution from EA to remove DoF without losing other things that make the game pretty.

    If you have an Nvidia GPU I would also skip AF in the gamersettings and just apply it via driver. AMD AF driver settings only work on DX 9, so you might as well give the gamersettings entry a shot.

    If you need to remove any gamersetting mod, just delete the file and the game should generate a new one. Go in do all your settings, exit the game, then apply the shadow changes and don't touch settings again.

      for me2 and 3, losing some effects is worth it, because disabling DOF also removes the awful black crush that clips the contrast , the RGB level is probably 12 to 251 instead of the proper 0 to 255 because they clipped it so badly. it kills alot of detail with a wash of black shadow on the screen except if a scene is particularly bright AND you're not wearing black armor. i can't recall if me1 also has black crush and don't feel like replaying it yet, but if it does, then i am happy to disable DOF in that one too. I recommend everyone reading this take Facemelting's advice but also mine, experiment and decide if you'd rather have DOF and black crush and post processing or no DOF and no black crush and beautiful clear image, but at the cost of some shader effects.

    People saying this mod is bad, "DOF is required for the post processing pipeline to function, you should only turn it off with the mod not the INI settings" the pipeline that causes extreme black crush for me2 and me3? ehh, if destroying the PP pipeline gives me visual clarity and proper contrast ratio(which i can then adjust to my own liking with Reshade contrast curves effect), then i won't miss it. I personally didn't notice a downgrade in quality, except maybe Ambient occlusion took a hit, but that's a necessary sacrifice to fix black crush(RGB gamma clipping) in my opinion.

    Graphics changes look great, but my custom resolution value keeps changing!

    1. I set the ini as follows:
    ResX=3200
    ResY=1800

    2. The game loads with the above settings and looks great!

    3. I close out of the game and go back in and it's back to 1440!

    4. I verify against the INI file and sure it enough it looks like this:

    ResX=2560
    ResY=1440

    All other settings remain unchanged.

    Below are my settings:

      Set the config file to "read only". This is the only way, I have found, to force resolution settings. In my case I forced 8k on a 4k screen.
