Apparently this has been included in "LE1 Community Patch" and "Unofficial LE2 Patch" now (both is needed according to mod page). Just to let others know. Thanks for making this mod.

Yes, I keep this mod up as an extra fix for any player that may have played ME1 without its corresponding patch. I, of course, do recommend and even mention on the Unofficial LE2 Patch that this mod is not required if using the patch

Both patches are indeed required for native compatibility (MELE1 patch must set the correct plot flags and MELE2 patch must be able to read them on import).

I was playing ME2LE and the continuity of his quest from ME1 to ME2 seems fine, the mod I installed are community patches and some QoL

Was gonna say. Seems like something the unofficial patches would fix.

It does, this was released way before the patches, however. I just keep the mod updated as it is a solution for someone that may have not played with the patch for ME1; as the true fix requires edits in both ME1 and ME2.

I don't know if it's already been said, but in Mass Effect 3, Conrad apologizes even for saying you pointed a gun at him if you didn't. Apparently, him saying you did in Mass Effect 2 seemed to be intentional.

No, it wasn't intentional. The dialogue bugs due to the missing import flag. Bioware "fixed" it in 3 introducing the apology, since the bug would have required patching Mass Effect 1 and 2 at the time, which was never going to happen.

If you are interested on removing the apology, I made sure to create a follow-up mod: Conrad No Apology.

Ah that makes sense. Well, mod downloaded, don't want to have Conrad saying things that didn't happen. Thank you very much!

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but this isn't quite functional with a gamepad. There is no indication which option you're highlighting in the cabin, and the game automatically assumes if you press the button to select an option that you wanted the "Persuade" option on the left. When using a mouse, you can click the opposite option, so I think it's a gamepad thing. Just thought it should be mentioned in case it wasn't already :)

Weird. It doesn't work for me. I have the LE2 Community Patch. I installed the mod and he said I pointed the gun at him. I disable the mod and he said the same thing. At which point will I know this mod worked? Sorry if it's a silly question.

If you're using the Unofficial patch, you don't need this. However, I have some questions... First of all, did you import a savegame from Mass Effect 1 played with the Community patch in which you did NOT point a gun to Conrad?

Second, if using also this mod, have you used the picture at all before stepping in illium as stated on the description? If you've done this and chosen charm on the picture BEFORE ever landing on Illium it's literally impossible the mod isn't working unless you've been touching the savegame values yourself, at which point I can't offer any assistance.

I only installed the respective patches when I played the game. I think I installed mods (this and the patch) AFTER importing ME1 savegame.

I helped Conrad take a photo in ME1 and was nice to him.

I only installed this mod RIGHT before stepping into Illium. Is that too late?

EDIT: I realise there's something to do in my cabin before I actually stepped into Illium. Sorry for missing that out. I'll do that.
EDIT2: Sorry about it. Interacting with the photo worked.

Well, the patch can't fix the multiple import bugs if you install it after importing... Which is why it didn't work and yes... This mod has the "cheat" of choosing your desired plot flag by interacting with the picture.

There will be several other import fixes that won't be fixed on your playthrough if you decided to install the patch after importing, though. Nothing we can do about it.

Hopefully they aren't issues affecting your choices directly.

I have a lot of mods from you, I saw that you updated a lot of them yesterday to make it compatible with LE2 Patch.

If I do not have LE2 Patch, I do not need to update the mods again, right?

Thanks for all your mods, they are awesome!

Hi! The patch works by mounting the lowest of mods in LE2, meaning other mods always override it (that way we prevent breaking other people's mods if they happen to stop modding the game). When the patch is updated/expanded; all mods that include files from it must be updated to include the fixes of files they happen to share.

I suppose you have your reasons to not use the patch, but all my bugfixes mods will be soon deprecated (this last update made them be below the patch), as we will be focusing on making the Unofficial Patch the sole holder of bugfixes. Be aware that some of my mods are starting to require the patch, as some files have dependencies (depending on which mods of mine you use, you may come across this hard requirement).

In summary, I can only recommend using the most up-to-date versions of my mods, as sometimes I also fix stuff I happened to break by mistake. If you currently have your game texture-modded and are hesitant to update them right now, I can assure you, you will not be missing much from the current updates (depending on which mods of mine were you using).

Thanks for the quick reply man, the main point of not using the LE Patches is because of the language. English is not my primary language, I am good; but it is not the primary.

I have experience modding since many years ago, and usually using the "Unofficial Patches" is a must for every game. However, all the other games like Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Fallout 4, etc; have these kind of patches on many languages.

All your fixes are awesome and the good news are that most of them are to correct stuff not related to text or voice, so that is the reason that I prefer to use just your fixes instead of using the LE Patch (which have support for different languages I know, but on the main page it says that most of the corrections are made considering English). Maybe on the future everythin will be fully translated without errors, but as of today still needs improvement.

Sorry for the long letter LoL, but thank you for your fixes and I will use the new updates that you just uploaded.

      Have a good day!

Oh, this might be some misexplanation on our part. The LE2 patch includes fixes for all languages. There are however some bugs that for example only exist on English, French or Italian (as far as we know right now) so, those fixes only exist on those languages, because the other ones are ok.

Then for vocabulary/typo errors, we have mostly fixed English, as that's the language the team plays at (even though most of us are not native English speakers lol). But we are always happy to be told if something is badly written in whichever language and include it in the next release. :)

If you have more questions or concerns, feel free to ask or DM me. Out of curiosity, which language do you play at?

Ohhhhh got it; I totally misunderstood this sentence on the main page:

"However, most typographical errors reported to us were in English. We are a multilingual team, but also largely play in English. We encourage reports of typographical errors in other languages so that these can be addressed."

My thinking was that you were only focussing on English errors and that yes, you are open to review another language reports; but, that the main focus or support was only for English errors or something like that.

Thank you for clarifying, my main language is Spanish; so, considering that: let me give a shot to your LE2 Patch instead of your standlone Mods, if I see something misspelled or with an error; I will let you know :)

Oh nice! Feel free to shoot me any DMs with Spanish inconsistencies and/or errors you may find. I'd be happy to review them personally (Spanish speaker here too!). I hope you enjoy the patch and your playthrough, mate!

any plans to remove the photo after interacting with it? i find it a little weird that shepard keeps the photo around even after all the bother conrad causes on illium. love this mod, it's an essential for me, and while i love hoarding things in my shepard's cabin, photos of a guy who is obsessed w me is not what i had in mind lmaoo
(or would i be safe unactivating the mod after i've interacted with it? i've always been hesitant to in the past because i don't want it to mess up ajwrbj)

Deactivating the mod is unsafe until you have dealt with Conrad himself. Otherwise, his conversations will be bugged in different ways. However, with the release of the Unofficial LE2 patch, you can stop using this mod and instead use the native proper import and fixes from a savegame played with the LE1 Community Patch

Oddly, activating the portrait triggers a conversation with jack where she is mad that I sided with Miranda. But the argument where I could pick sides has not yet happened...

Unfortunately, this is a bug introduced to this mod with the unofficial LE2 patch, which fixes plot stuff of their argument, and our team happened to use the same variable number as this mod was using without me noticing.

I recommend you to not use the picture as of this moment, until the Unofficial LE2 Patch 0.9.1 version is up.

Hey - sorry you're experiencing this, as Khaar explained, it's a clash with the LE2 Patch which will be addressed in the next release (unfortunately we can't hotfix this for technical reasons).

You can solve the issue by using the Trilogy Save Editor and resetting a few bools and integers. Some of these may already be in the correct configuration, but check all of them. Open your save in the Trilogy Save Editor. Go to the Raw Plot tab. On the Booleans subtab, set the following bools to false: 179, 1569, 1577, 1578, 1579, 1636. On the Integers subtab, set integer 213 to 0.

This should totally reset your relationship and conversation track with Jack. You can restart speaking to her and progress through her dialogue as normal.

Again, apologies for the inconvenience. This will be fixed in the next update.

So I found an issue. If you manually set the plot flag for charmed Conrad via save file editor, this mod will actually bring back the bug.

I don't know how that happened, but it's what happened to me. Either use this mod or use the savefile editor, do not use both at the same time.

Well... That was a given... Why save edit if you are going to use the mod...? Also, save editing will really not fix all the conversation bugs, because there is a lot more going on than "choosing" what happened on Mass Effect 1.

No, Bioware included the metajoke to acknowledge a bug they never cared to fix. I have also a mod released to avoid Conrad saying such stupid line. I can assure you the lines are all wrong in ME2 with both versions of the encounter being mixed.
