Only the base game is covered for now. As I comb through the game or tweak my design philosophy, more notes will be added.
Omega and Leviathan will be included in Update 1, alongside subtitle support for other languages. Citadel will be added in Update 2.
Users are strongly encouraged to leave feedback. If you feel like a particular note wasn't clear enough or could've been written better, please don't hesitate to let me know.
A really great way to show appreciation to BioWare's original team for a game project they received altogether too much s#*! and many death threats for, and not nearly enough positive recognition.
In many things, Mass Effect 3 was ahead of its time, and a victim of its own scope because - at the time - Bioware's design/work philosophy hadn't matured enough to tackle the ideas they had for this game.
Something like dialogue notifications, or prioritizing working on the final mission first (like they did for Andromeda, as per producer Aaron Flynn), would've made people appreciate this game so much more. Even Inquisition, which came out only 2 years after ME3, had notifications. Albiet in a more basic form compared to Veilguard.
There aren't any variables for most of those two missions because they're tutorials levels. Nothing I can do here. Keep playing, the first one is during the TIM confrontation on Mars. Potentially earlier than that if you make A/K distrust you.
I didn't get any with TIM or when I let James call me Loco. I couldn't find any troubleshooting tips in the description. Is there anything I can try to get it to work? Edit: I discovered the issue. It's incompatible with Wired Texan's Shorter Notifications mod. I forgot I had that one installed
Optional Flirting Mod also seems to conflict at times. An example is the interaction with Ashley on Mars.
With it enabled, you will not get the "Ashley noticed you dodged her question" popup. No issue when it is disabled, though.
That said, some other prompts work just fine with it enabled. So it may only impact relationship related notes?
EDIT: Project Variety also has some conflicts. Just based on the Images provided, the popup on Menae does not occur with PV installed. Same with the Illusive Man on Mars. I'm sure there are other's, but those are the only ones I can verify either by what Orikon has said or the images he's posted. Not sure why these mods only impact certain popups and not others, but it is what it is.
I was wondering why I wasn't getting many Notes on my current playthrough, as this mod was the reason I stated a new one, but now I have my reason.
Pretty awesome to see how many have been happening now that I can actually see them. :)
I really love the idea of this. As someone who gets in the habit of choosing the same options over and over again, having this pop-up show you there were consequences to what you said makes me rethink all of the other possibilities.
This is great, but wouldn't it be better/possible to move it in like the top-left angle? The popups in the center I feel they disturb the cutscene too much
I agree, but unfortunately there's nothing I can do. The 3 options were top of the screen, middle, or bottom. Bottom overlaps with subtitles.
Maybe somebody familiar with Unreal Script could change the positioning of the Top option since that isn't used anywhere in the game, but that's beyond my skillset.
Not the mod for me, too handguiding in my taste. But I do always appreciate that it will be helpful for others, so I do appreciate that effort, so you have my respect. Kudos.
Fair enough, I appreciate the take. But I can promise you the notifications are very subtle and last a few seconds. Plus, it's not like they tell you every single thing. The focus is really on the kind of stuff you would never, ever notice yourself.
common orikon w im watching this mod like a hawk i loved the notes in veilguard since the tendency for games to have the dialogue option write out a but the character say b is something that annoys me a lot, so this is amazing, much love
the tendency for games to have the dialogue option write out a but the character say b is something
Yes, big big issue. Of course you have to abbreviate dialogue options, but I never understood why it was so difficult to have an optional box that you can open via a hotkey and which then contains the full sentence.
funnily enough the best fix is just. doing what That One Fallout 4 Mod (i do not remember the name) wherein it would change the stupid directional selection with just. the entirety of what your character will say. personal must-have. obviously, not every game has the same level of combination jank and modding ability like fallout but its the best way to fix that particular problem.
edit that and some tone indicators and it would be *perfect.* [joke] not my fault my autistic ass doesnt understand emotions, i would like to roleplay someone who isnt social-tone deaf
Fully agreed. Unfortunately that's waaay outside our modding capabilities for Mass Effect, but it's definitely something Blind Squirrel Games could've/should've done for the LE instead of chasing industry trends with that Photo Mode.
I'm a simple man. When Orikon puts out a new mod, I download. Keep up the good work, man, you're holding a lot of people over until the next Mass Effect haha

There's a good chance it will be updated by the time you reach ME3, so you'll get even more out of ADN.
ADN could also be done for ME1 and 2 but only by someone who knows those games waaaay better than I do.
