FYI, It is also possible to swap/replace mesh around. You can somewhat identify each helm/armor pieces/sets by their effects

EG: To make Kestrel Helm look like Recon Hood
    0. Follow the instruction 1 and 2 in description to extract the .ini file

    1. Look for the line that affects Recon Hood. Hint, look for: SFXGameEffect_Gear_Pepper02Helmet
    2.  Copy Mesh=(...), from that line

    3. Look for the line that affects Kestrel Helm. Hint, look for:
    SFXGameEffect_Gear_CER02_HelmetHeadShotBonus

    4.  Replace Mesh=(...), with the one you copied from Recon Hood

    5. Repack

    Disclaimer:
    I only tested some
If you replace a full body mesh with a helm mesh, you'd be a floating head with weapons.

Would this work with mods that import gear from ME3 into ME2?

Is it also possible to make a mod where breather helemts are always on, regardless of which planet? I personally would really love that.

Why it was necessary to remove the mod for the original game?

Any chance this will be repackaged so that it is compatible with the ME3Tweaks Mod Manager (https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffectlegendaryedition/mods/2) so that it can easily be used with other mods that change Coalesced_INT.bin?

      it already works
drag coalesced file and drop it in ME3Tweaks, it will decompile, make your edits, then there will be a file mixed in with all the other xml files called "mele.extractedbin"
once you're done drag THAT file and it will create your new coalesced, which you place in your game folder
took me maybe 3 minutes (although figuring out how to do all that with no prior knowledge took like an hour lol)

Could you guys be more specific on where in ME3Tweaks do you drag the coalesced file? And do you drag your current coalesced file?

Does anyone know the line for Sentry Interface or Kuwashii Visor? I am trying to replace the Kestrel mesh to one of those two and I can't quite find them as I also have the Expanded Armor Mod Kharr

Thanks to ME2 Armory Tweaks: https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect2/mods/201?tab=docs
      Here are the Mesh ID's.

      [ Kuwashii Visor ]
      +10% Headshot damage
      SFXGameEffect_Gear_Visor

      and

      [ Sentry Interface ]
      +5% Shields
      SFXGameContentDLC_PRO_Gulp01.SFXGameEffect_Gear_GulpHelmet
      DLC_PRO_Gulp01
      Dr.Pepper Promotion

If anyone wants the mesh ID for other armors in the base and DLC game (not included any modded armors/clothing, here you go :)

would love to know this too. Removing helmet on hazardous planet surface breaks immersion.

Yes, it hides Shepard's helmet in all scenes.

I would if I could. Problem is that the DLC armors (at least the ones that aren't working) are one texture file. Regular helmets are just separate texture files, which can be hid by removing the reference to the file, which is what this mod does. You keep the stats, but not the texture making the helmet invisible effectively. DLC armors would require a modified texture, which is above my skill level.

Is it possible to hide the helmets only during cutscenes/conversations and not during combat?

Nope, not with this mod. From what I found this mechanic hasn't been added/enabled in the game. The trick this mod is pulling is removing the helmet textures making them invisible. Added benefit is that you will get the stats.

Hey! I opened my biogame.ini file searched through all mentions of HelmetAppearences but theres nothing about meshes in there. There is for shoulders, arms, legs etc but nothing for helmets.

Anyone got a solution for this?

You probably made the mistake of opening the coalsced downloaded by the mod, rather than the one you were currently using at the time

Is there a backup of the original Coalesced_INT.bin if we want to uninstall it? I stupidly forgot to save my own.

I can't endorse the mod because I didn't actually download it, however your instructions on how to merge your changes with my existing Coalesced file were very helpful. Thanks!
