I apologize for not responding for a long time, I've taken an extended break from Mass Effect since beating the Legendary Edition and don't remember many details as far as troubleshooting modding goes. If I come back to the game I'll probably tinker with modding again in the future
I agree. Compared to Kaidan and James' ajax armor which both had battle scars and scratches on them, this mod for Shepard looks like he just came out of basic training. There's a mod for ME3 OT called "Black Ajax Armor" which looks so good and does exactly what you'd expect shepard's armor would look like after countless battles.
Can't seem to get this to install. Confirmed I have the proper installer (Worked for a few previous mods but now won't work for any mods requiring ME Modder) It just says installation failed then seems to open a list of all of the mods I have installed. I don't know if this is conflicting with any other mods or not but I don't have any that are touching the texture for the ajax armor in me3.... Not particularly adept in the world of game modding in general so I wouldn't be surprise if I didn't quite do something right but this seems pretty straight forward as far as install procedure goes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
after creating the texture maps with the MassEffectModder, can I just use the ME3TweaksModManager to install the N7 Ajax Armor mod itself or does it have to be the MassEffectModder?
Definitely too dark/rich. There's a reason why the regular black armors ingame don't look like this. Trying to match the default N7 helmet would've been the way to go, IMO, and as a bonus the no-helmet version would look fine with the default N7 breather helmet. Or just copy the texture from James' or Kaidan's alternate outfits which are basically the same thing.
I'm wondering if it would be possible to somehow change the light/nameplate colors to an alliance blue? The orange looks good with the white and black armors, but the black and red looks a little off with it.
I am so happy that I managed to get this mod working on my game! Amazing work, and thank you for the time you took putting this together!
I was having issues getting it to work WITH the "no helmet" mod, though. But then I thought maybe it was more about changing certain files before adding new textures, or vice versa, and that's what I did. So I did learn that your mod will only work with the "no helmet" mod IF you load the "no helmet" mod FIRST and only then upload your awesome texture mod.
I honestly thought I was never going to get it working, and consigned myself to wearing the old stand-by sets ugh. But this simple sequence change worked for my game, woot! Again, thanks much!
I really like this. The Spectre black version is my favorite since it lets Shepard wear both the N7 and Spectre logos, both of which s/he represents.
My only nitpick, and that's exactly what it is, is that the armor is noticeably darker than the N7 guns. Any chance it could be lightened up a tad to better match? If not I understand, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. Either way, thank you very much for your work!
Edit: Nevermind, I figured out how to do this on my own!

I used MEM to extract the mods files, edited them with my photo editing software, then used MEM to repack the mod and installed it.
