They are lowered but Kaidan is not trained in Assault Rifles. Nor is Shepard if he is not a Soldier. It always bugged me and I'm sure others too. Why are they pulling out an Assault Rifle (that they're not trained in or use) just to talk to Ashley? Ashley holstered her weapons, they should too.
I'm so sorry I didn't do it correctly. So I'm to have to fix it and update. I just realized with this new mod I'm working on that I didnt do it right so this new mod will have correct localizations and ill update Put Your Guns Down too.
This is a great mod, thanks for all your work! Goes great with Streamlined Weapon Loadouts where most classes don't have access to ARs. It really helps with the immersion.
Secondly, on the contrary, I always wondered why there weren't MORE scenes with unholstered weapons. You're in an active warzone, and you're walking about with them on your back talking as if nothing is going on? NPCs have them out all the time.
It would be cool if it changed based on your class though. Shotgun for Vanguard, sniper for Infiltrator, and I guess pistol for the other three.
Unfortunately the game doesn't work that way. Also there's no gestures with weapons in this game other than rifle. So in this short Eden Prime scene it has 52 interps and I had to edit all of them. Times that by 4 if it was possible with each weapon choice and that's just Shepard. Times that by each Squadmate too. I understand now why Bioware didn't have more and why they didn't add powers to cutscenes and dialog in the trilogy.
Games with this much variation are absolute hell on developers, I get that. Guess that's the unfortunate reality, not everything will ever be as detailed and variable as we'd like it to be.
Maybe in the future with AI could help with the development. Like the developer could make all the animations but it would be nice if they could like this scene for example make the AI make duplicates this scene with set animations to different weapons variations. Instead of a human having to set each one manually.
I have mixed feelings on "AI" - I've boiled my misgivings down to not so much what it is but who's using it. But for modding purposes specifically they tend to lean on the positive and the potential shown already is pretty mind-blowing.
Great idea, bugged me 15 years ago and still bugs me today. Are there plans to fix other scenes in the game like this, such as the first appearance of the rachni on Noveria, or just before the Armature boss on Therum?
Nooo lol. I forgot about those! It's going to bug me if I don't try to change those scenes too. Those scenes should be easier to change because there's no dialog. I'll see if I can change those too. If so i'll add them to this mod as optional. Do you know of anymore scenes?

YAY! After hours of trying to get it to use the equipped weapons for Therum. I got it to work. I'm so happy so ill look at Noveria now. I know what scene your talking about. Oh and I looked at all the cutscenes in LE1 and there's 7 scenes I'm looking at. So you don't have look anymore. :)
Wow, that was fast! There is one other moment similar to the Noveria bit that I can recall, on Feros just after you speak to the Thorian. You launch into the fight against the asari clone and your companions for sure invariably draw the wrong weapons. Thing is, they don't draw the weapons in the cutscene from what I remember, so I don't know if it's the same sort of issue - but it's frickin annoying when the shotgun squad you've got set up all decide to use pistols against those creepers that wake up right next to you. Been the cause of more than one Insanity wipe, let me tell you.
Ok ill look at that. I'm actually on working on Feros now. I think I remember that. I think it may happen other places too. But yeah I know that one because I remember having to pause and hurry to switch everyones weapons back.
Ok I checked out the Thorian and it didn't change weapons when I did it. It sometimes did it when I reloaded the autosave but I think it's the AI changing their weapons. Sometimes they change their weapons when in combat. I don't know exactly why they decide to switch.
Yeah it seems pretty random. I did happen to spot another, also on Feros during the geth hopper intro. It's just a second or two but it's there, because I use Streamlined Weapons my Shepard looks like he's offering an invisible baguette as some sort of peace offering.
Sorry delayed because I'm trying to have it where each squadmate can have set animation instead of all of them sharing the same one. It'll make it look better in the long run.
This mod reminded me of another thing hopefully in the near future could become a reality. so when you unholster youll have the gun in your hand not zoomed in but when use your aim/shoot button it goes to the default mode we normally seen vise versa. i sort of understand why bioware didn't do it as its seems clunky but sometimes its jarring having shepard and co with the guns always targeting while walking.

OK I was looking the files. I made it to where its doesn't zoom in when you take your gun out. But the thing is there are only two modes. Explore and Combat. When you have your gun out that's combat. When its holster its explore. I can make it to where it doesn't zoom in on combat mode. I kinda like it and when you aim its the normal way. But there aren't any animations for shotgun and sniper when walking. There's aim like walking and storm that it shows in these videos and that's already in the game. But explore walk can only be done with rifle and pistol and there's only pistol run.
interesting.with the sniper and shotgun animation not being present,is that one of the main reasons why shepard and co always seem to use pistol or assault rifle in cutscenes without mods installed?if so thats explains why a vanguard with just a shotgun equiped with all the other two guns
At the end of the conversation with Ashley, Shepard makes a hand gesture saying "Go ahead!" or something like that..Usually at this moment she has a weapon in her hand...And with this mod, how then? Does this gesture remain???
Are you talking about when Shepard tells Ashley to stay and Kaidan goes she knows the area. And Shepard says "Fine, just remember whose in charge". I changed that gesture. You shouldn't see any ARs.
