I know its been a while since you've uploaded this.  I do hope your still around to offer some help.

So i've tried to save this in two locations and neither showed up. When i tried to import the ME1 character there were no options. DX any ideas would be appreciated.

    Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Save\ME1\Char
Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Save\ME1\Char

Edit: Just for the heck of it I tried to do the second option where we can do the final battle in ME1, and it worked with no problem. So i just did that and moved on to ME2

Importing also seemed to award all the ME2 achievements (in-game, not Steam). Means that you get the long service bonus credits and 50k resources, plus your choice of bonus power.
Achievements can be reverted by deleting %userprofile%\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Save\ME2\GamerProfile, at the cost of any other ME2 achievements and also your bindings for some reason. Importing again will just award them again though. Be aware.

I am a 30 year old PC noob who just got his 1st ever PC in my life. I download the file and it says the file is a 7Z file. there is no option to unzip anything that i can find anywhere although it does give me the option to compress it to a zip file. PLEASE HELP! Edit i figured out how to extract it but it still wont show up in game

So when I put the file in my save folders it doesn't show up in the ME2 import, am I doing something wrong?

I noticed the path I gave in my response to the below post was slightly incorrect (I fixed it). You will need to extract the downloaded file into the following location:

      Documents > Bioware > Mass Effect Legendary Edition > Save > ME1 > Char

If you don't have a Char folder, you can just add a new folder to your ME1 save location and name it Char.

      Hope that helps!

Hello :) Download the 1st file (ME1 End Credits Save). It is a zipped file, so you will need to extract it.

Put the extracted file into the save game folder for MELE ME1. It should be something like
      Documents\Bioware\MELE\Save\ME1\Char

If you don't have a folder titled "Char" you can add a new folder in the ME1 folder and name it Char

Once it is in your save folder, start a new MELE ME2 game. You should then see an option to "import ME1 character" - click on it and select the file called char_02

Hope that makes sense :) Enjoy!

NOTE: If you have already played through MELE ME1 twice on your own, you will already have your own char_2 file. So move your char_2 file it someplace safe, like your desktop. Then move my char_2 file into the folder.

Just finished ME1 using your Fem Shep...as a soldier using only sniper and assault rifles and didn't use first aid. I'm not copying you..Sheps honor!

:) Yay! Haha! I should have uploaded my first save, because I literally just stood there without moving, other than to turn Shepard to face him, and riddled him with AR bullets. Took less than 1 minute (minus the small cut scene). I did it a second time because I thought it didn't save properly. The second time took maybe 2 minutes because I used the autosave, and it reloaded smack dab into the literal start of the fight. I was a bit disoriented and just spraying bullets around lmao. I remember finding it challenging the first time I played ME1 way back when. I guess it feels easier after you've played the ME trilogy an embarrassingly large number of times...

I actually think I might have died due to sheer stupidity 2 or 3 times during the playthrough. That's what happens when you get cocky and are like..."Stop yelling at me Wrex. I know the thresher maw is going to pop up right where we're standing. I'm just not that impressed." Or "It's just a Geth armature. It should only take 1 throat punch, right Kaidan?" Or "Wow. I guess you're right, Joker. I really shouldn't have ignored the proximity blasting caps the Normandy warned us about."

lol those proximity mines where tough. Run like hell and stop and wait for it to stop beeping while getting shot at. Enjoy ME2 and thanks for Fem Shep!  Happy with her.

    I already have a char_02. Can I rename your save to char_03?

Hmmm. Good question. I don't know. You can always try it. Might want to move your char_02 to a different location for safe keeping, just in case. If renaming my version messes up the save data, you can just download a new copy of my save. Good luck! :)
