Hi. Does this mod really makes the game more difficult than the usual insanity difficulty presented in LE? Im looking for a challenge.

Great mod but is there a way to do the same with enemies damage? So for example enemies on Hardcore or Insanity make the same level of damage than in lower difficulties? I'd like to play with hardcore enemies AI and bonuses but I find their damage level too punishing (and not so fun) for my Shep and my squadmates.

Enemies damage can't be changed if I am correct but there is possibility to change health for Shepard and henchmen.
But maybe the problem is your Shepard build, for example for me some parts of early game was hard but choosing some good loyalty bonus skill is solution for it. For example Barrier or Fortification or Geth Shield Boost. Also some other mods may help for example LE2 New Upgrades (unlocked hidden content ).
And if that is not enough then I suggest using lower bonus for enemies (DLT ).

I think the game with enabled regen for shields, barriers, armors and Difficulty Level Tweak +225 should be already hardcore. And you can add to this LE2 Shield Gate mechanics - difficulty tweaks (also Armor and Barrier Gate ) and Tougher Bosses (LE2) also (but maybe regen armor then shouldn't be installed because some bosses may be too tough ). But if you want bigger hardcore then also it is possible but question is how exactly do this:

If we talking about enemies tougher then:
-to Difficulty Level Tweak I can add version with higher protection value - for example 300 (at default insanity have 150 ) and if you want different value just say what value.
-I can also make mod that enemies having more health if you want. I can make some versions (every version would give similar increase like between default difficulty levels ).

      If making enemies deadlier:
-Shepard can have less health (with every difficulty level, values for that are lower, so I can make some versions what further decreasing this ).
-Squad mates can have less health.
-Enemy powers cooldown can be decreased (shorter cooldown before enemy can use power again ).
-Squad mates powers cooldown can be increased.
-Squad mates power duration can be decreased.
-Enemies shooting accuracy increase (I think this is already quite high at default but increasing this for only at short distance may have some sense )

Ready, I added mod file to mod site where Shield gate mod is: https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffectlegendaryedition/mods/1440?tab=files

When installing choose one version (easily it can be uninstalled and then another version can be installed ):

      • Insanity2 - enemies have health like another level above Insanity
      • Insanity3 - like 2 levels above Insanity
      • Insanity4 - like 3 levels above Insanity
      • Insanity5 - like 4 levels above Insanity
      • Insanity6 - like 5 levels above Insanity
Compatible with any mods what not modify enemies health at Insanity difficulty level.
I believe this should be enough if not I can make more versions.

UPDATE: To Difficulty Level Tweak added 300, 400 and 500 versions.

    Hi
Thanks a lot for the good mods, shield regeneration is essential!

By the way, I saw that in the vanilla ME2 version you managed to make a mod that the corpses don't disappear. It would be great if there was also a version for LE.

    Best regards

About corpses, with this method I tried blocking not only stuff what was solution for ME2 but everything about cleanup corpses what I found in sfxgame - and still it not work.
Problem is that possibly this is not just method problem (and I don't have more ideas for it ). If only that would be method problem then modding sfxgame may be solution. In that particular case it is complicated and exceed what I can modify in sfxgame (changing false/true, adding bool property ). I found some guide already, I am not sure if this apply to this case but some stuff what I extracted in package editor is in .bin - this I believe must be hex edited (2 lines from top removing ) to making from it .swf to edit it and probably making merge mod. So for me it would be some trial and error process. Can't promise but maybe I going back to trying this in future.

This is really cool, the enemy shield/barrier regen alone is a welcome bit of added challenge that brings the ME2 combat more in line with the lore. I've really grown to appreciate how well ME1 is balanced for higher difficulties in terms of expressing its lore through the combat - strong shields coupled with heavy armour make for real battles of attrition on Insanity, and krogan in particular are enemies to be rightly feared. Though I imagine because of the differences in arena design it's not really feasible to re-work the whole armour/shield/barrier thing in ME2 and keep it balanced, these tweaks really are a step in the right direction.

    Thanks again!

Thank you for nice words. This is one of mods what I invested much time and in such case not first time mod become quite unpopular :D But to the point, I think it is hard to change this game into something what it not be intended to be but I quite like as it is - ESR elevate somewhat difficulty but seems balanced and rather not makes any enemies too tough, EBR is fine - a couple of enemies can have elevated difficulty but for skillful players shouldn't be problem, EAR elevate difficulty for some enemies but even this, some people may enjoy. By the way there is interesting mod what elevate bosses difficulty - Tougher Bosses (LE2).
I was thinking about guns accuracy (there already such mods if anyone is interested in ) but I like default game - as with better accuracy newer weapons will be less rewarding and you don't need to know your weapons behavior if everything is accurate from more distance and don't have much recoil (and another problem occurs - enemies became more accurate and this could not be fixed properly because nerfing their accuracy is limited to some extent otherwise it break AI ). For me even it is not lore problem that some guns in the future time are not accurate because ideal accuracy is less needed than power to penetrate powerful shields/barriers/armors (so cheaper weapons could lack accuracy ).

By the way I added DLT version with 0 bonus protection. So now on Infinity and Hardcore you can easier use powers on lower enemies. Although when using it, is not recommended using EAR because Blood Pack Trooper will be bugged with instant start of armor regen. The same goes when using ESR as Geth Trooper will have instant start of shield regen but this shouldn't be problematic because this enemy isn't tough. And there is already similar mod what also change to 0 bonus protection but it also increase 2x health of lower enemies: Basic Enemies (LE2) .
