I made this mod for the class that I was using so it's possible I missed some ammo types that were not available for my character. I'll take a lot the next time I go back to modding Mass Effect.
I never made mods for OT so I have no idea, but I would assume that it wouldn't work. But you would have to ask the creator of Mass Effect Modder, or someone who had experience with OT tools.
If OT had a different modding tool for textures, maybe you could use MEM to extract this mod into png files, and later repack it using tools created specifically for OT.
hmm that's interesting that MIGHT work, so far I've extracted this .mem into .pngs, but I've no idea how to repackage it into working .mems for OT. So far the Create Mod tool on MEM only says "Creating MEM Mod Failed" and MEM File not created nothing to build. But thanks for the idea! I'll tinker around myself for a bit
Yup I can confirm it, at least for the disruptor ammo cuz it was showing the dark blue electric bullet icon next to the weapon. I just extracted both ammo texture's files from the game and used your lens draw, it worked like a charm. You might consider adding them to your mod for it to cover all the power ammo :)
Here are the names if you want to : -fx_Modal_Icon_Overload_0xC9D73557 -fx_Modal_Icon_ArmorPiercing_0xA657B87F
Just a little side note: When I was making those icons I noticed that depending on what color the game uses, some of them would be much brighter / darker than the others. So to fix that problem I had to play around with opacity, I had to make Cryo icons much darker than Incendiary, and Warp just slightly lighter. So now even if they look identical in the game, the files are different. Here's an example:
So as you can see - if you used Cryo to make your new icons, they gonna be much darker than if you would use Warp or Incendiary. So you can play around with that if you think they are too bright or too dark for you.
I guess I could also add Overload and Armor Piercing, but I would have to figure out what to do with all the other icons like "WitcherSigns" and "New1" since all of them are different.
Sorry if it's a stupid question, but do any of these also make the glowing bars (like the second or third screenshot you give), stay visible always like they are in ME2? I always found I preferred that look.
I always wondered, was it a bug or they deliberately make this in ME3? Because it kinda look cool how glowing bars of certain ammo displayed on a weapon in ME2. I wish someone make them in ME3 as well
So now, my questions (I'm sure they're dumb but you never know... LOL) - do the new icons appear on the squad mates' weapons too? - one file gives me the incendiary AND cryo AND warp ammo icons, right?
- Haven't checked but most likely yes. I doubt the game would use different textures just for your companions - Yes, one .mem file = incendiary+cryo+warp. At first I was thinking about packing them separately but it seemed like a waste of time.
But if you want to mix different icons from different sets? Its easy: You can use MassEffectModder to extract those downloaded .mem files, pick one icon from each folder, put 3 of them together into a new folder and make your own custom .mem package (you just click on create mod and pick that folder you just created).
So for example you can pick: - "fx_Modal_Icon_Incendiary_0x1C5050E6" file from Alliance folder - "fx_Modal_Icon_Cryo_0x36F17063" file from N7 folder - "fx_Modal_Icon_Warp_0x8A25D5FA" file from Omega folder
Put that together in a new folder, click on ME3 -> Mods Manager -> Create mod and name it whatever you want. Now after installing that you will have Alliance logo when you use Incendiary / N7 when you use Cryo / Omega when you use Warp.
Wow, thanks for the extra instructions. ^_^ I didn't even think about mixing the icons but that was a good idea. I followed your guide and it worked. The icons do appear on the squad mates' weapons by the way.
One thing though, I think the icons are a little too small and too discreet but maybe that was idea? Aside that detail, I really like your mod, way to customize the game a little more. I'm looking forward to see the other icons you've designed.

Yeah that was the idea since most people didn't like how big and bright they were. So I tried to make them smaller and more translucent, alternative for people who turned them off completely.
But yeah, maybe for the next update I could make an alternative version thats just as bright as vanilla icons. Lets see what people think.

Ah ha ha, I guess I'm in the minority on that point. I like how they look in the vanilla version.
Ah well, it's not that big a deal. If it's not too much trouble, an alternate version would be super cool but I understand if it's not a priority for now.

it works with LE3 Community patch ?
Thank,
I installed the models: LE3_ammo_VanModMini.mem
But one of the ammunition mods does not work out of the three, the antigrav one which remains in vanilla.
I tried this one too: LE3_ammo_VanMod.memBut same problem, only Antigrav ammunition does not work and remains in vanilla version.

EDIT: Nevermind I figured out how to create them reading your instructions in the comment below

Kudos and mod endorsed.
