I have started working with community modders to create ultrawide versions of their mod cutscenes. These will be available via the Ultrawide Community Mod Cutscenes mod, currently found in the Main files and ALOVUW - Optional Files sections.
That was really lovely to read, thank you for taking the time to share. I'm so glad you enjoyed my mod and found others to remake the experience. Even when the 4K ALOV was finished I didn't replay the remastered version untilI had finished the ultrawide mod. It's definitely a personal preference, and there are other games I have upscaled in 16:9 but this one I have wanted to see ultrawide. And for me, it's worth it :)
I've tested it on that resolution and it works fine in the sense that you'll see the ultrawide videos displayed at 21:9 aspect ratio with large black bars on either side - I wouldn't recommend playing LE at 32:9 though as there are several visual bugs introduced at that aspect ratio. You'd be better served playing at 3440x1440 and leaving two 840x1440 windows on either side.
This is a fantastic mod. Thank you so much for compiling it for us poor ultrawide users.
I don't know if you are still doing community content for this mod but I would love you to do a patch for Audemus' Happy Ending Mod and Citadel Epilogue Mod (LE3). They are two of the best mods for ME3, in my oppinion.
They did their own videos for them in the same style as ALOV but they have not done an ultrawide version of them.
between improved wards skybox le1, le1 ultrawide community mod cutscenes, alov ultrawide for le1 what''s the right order to install?
i got in this order right now: 1) skybox, 2) alov, 3) ultrawide com mod cutscenes
the wording that is throwing me off is: "If using ALOV:UW, it must be installed before this mod for the same reason." not sure what the "it" in the previous statement is
The ultrawide mod should always be installed after the regular widescreen version has been installed so that the regular widescreen cutscene is replaced with the ultrawide version. I’ve added a bit of added instruction in the files, thanks for the feedback
Dsync will occur if the game is not running at a constant 60 fps. I recommend lowering resolution, disabling VSync etc. Changing the max monitor refresh rate in-game to 60 may also help.
Hi, i had contacted the authors for some of the more popular mods which use ALOV cutscenes but life's kinda got in the way at the moment. If you have particular mods in mind let me know :)
You still need to install the original mod before the UW Community cutscene mod for them to work, Im not sure if deleting the original mod cutscenes would cause an issue but i wouldnt recommend it - particularly as they are very small filesize anyway
Keeping in mind that there is a large list of mods installed, so not really asking for help... I had an... issue during the Run at the Citadel.

Weirdly, the respective videos played when I first accidentally chose to doom the council (perils of skipping dialogue) And I found it kinda interesting that Joker was still lipsynced for the lines when its supposed to play over a video of the fleet action.
The end credits visuals did NOT play either, and it wouldn't kick me out to menu. But it did make a save, so... that's okay.
I may have goofed something from mumblemumblegamespeedmumbleauroramumble or something.
It looks like it is a performance issue or one of the other mods causing an issue. cutscenes can become very desynchronised if the frame rate drops below 60. Have you tried reinstalling ALOV UW, and lowering your graphics settings so you get a constant 60fps? Also try lowering the frame rate cap to your monitors native rate, and disable vsync..
If the issue persists even when you are getting a solid 60fps you could try disabling all the other mods via manage target and reapply ALOTUW, or restore a backup installation if you have any mods installed (rather than imported and applied).
Hi! First of all, I would like to thank you for this mod. I know you spent A LOT of time for this.
I have an issue with Community Mod Cutscenes for ME1. They are not working for me on dialogue scenes. (But the videos work fine, as far as I can tell).
I was using the version before the May 2023 update and the cutscenes were working fine - they were in ultrawide. But now, with the latest version, it was no longer ultrawide.
I'm not sure what was wrong. I tried installing just this mod (plus the required "Improved Wards Skybox and the ALOV mod) to see if it was just a conflict with my other mods but the issue was still there.
I have only been playing ME1, so I don't know about the other games.
OMG, thank you so much! I kept reinstalling everything, I was going crazy.
I think I directly installed the other mod (Remove Letterboxing) so I didn't have it on my Mod Library. So when I deleted and re-downloaded everything, I kept thinking the Ultrawide Community Mod Cutscenes was the issue. 🤦
I cannot recommend this mod. It is not a true widescreen remaster--probably from the limitations of the source material--instead, it is a zoomed in version of the original 16:9 resolution. So yes, the videos fill the entire screen and eliminate the black bars on the sides, but you are actually seeing *less* than you would without this mod enabled. You've lost material from the top and bottom of the screen, which distorts the careful framing of these beautiful cinematics, and everything is too zoomed in. Look at the sample images provided.
I've gone back to the "normal" ALOV mod which is fantastic. Mad props to the creator for this work--it is truly great--but stretching/zooming content to fit an ultrawide screen is worse than the original content with black bars.
There is no way to change the aspect ratio of any rendered content without losing some out of frame, and why reframing each shot is important. It's a personal preference, and setting a correct expectation was a reason I detailed the process in the description.
Ahh so that is why things looked pretty bad in rendered cutscenes. Still a great mod though but I will run it in normal 16:9 even on my ultrawide as I prefer quality over this.
I am currently downloading the latest version of the 3 ALOV:UW for the main games. After that, I can start seeding files as I have plenty of space to store the assets.

I posted it up in the ME reddit for those who are interested.

Thanks for the kind words!
There are a couple of individual movies in the files section if you want to try replacing a small sample of cutscenes to test.

In any case thanks again for this amazing mod.
Also do we need the standard 16:9 files as well or can we just use these ?
