Posting this since people clearly keep asking for it and the author has to repeatedly say they won't do it and people don't read. Making compatibility patches is a nightmare. Especially for LE1.
No one is going to be happy with whatever opacity Mental chooses to make so here's a small tutorial so you can do it yourselves, as she has stated several times that this mod has open permissions, as per the description.
BE ADVISED: Because of the material used, "opaque" doesn't cover the whole face. You'll only notice a slight change in the visor.
How to edit the visor opacity in Tali Overhaul & HD (LE1)
1) Open up one of the packages in Legendary Explorer with Package Editor
2) Navigate to tali_overhaul_0 > TaliOverhaul > Materials > Tali_Vsr
3) In the Properties Tab, click on ScalarParameterValues
4) Click on VSR_Opacity
5) Change that to whatever you want (0 is clear, 1 is opaque)
6) Save the file
7) Repeat 1-6 for the other packages
8) If you want to use the patches, then you must change the value there as well
Note: If you want to change the visor color, go into VectorParameterValues > VSR_Colour_01
-----------------------------------
If you want to use the vanilla visor for Tali Overhaul LE1, it is located at BIOG_QRN_ARM_LGT_R > LGTa > QRN_FAC_ARM_LGTa_MAT_1b.
Follow the same steps as above for the opacity, color etc.
Check out the Legendary Explorer Wiki for more information on how to apply it to Tali. Use the search bar as some guides aren't in the main page.
To field the inevitable questions... 1) Legendary Explorer is accessible via the same Tools drop-down in ME3Tweaks Mod Manager as Mass Effect Modder
2) Package Editor can be found under the Core Editors
3) Do not post bug reports nor comments aimed at the mod author about stuff you yourself did to the files. If you require aid, the public modding Discord is always available at this link: https://discord.gg/masseffectmods
Sorry to reply here, but this does not work and I do not know why.
I have set Tali_Vsr to 0.667 in all packages (thanks to the search functionality of the package manager) before installing the mod, and Talis Visor is still clear as day.
Could it be that there is another value that has to also be changed for the effect to show?
Edit: The new item 8 (also edit the compatibility files) is what was missing. Thank you very much!
Edit 2: Nope, there is an incompatibility with one of my other mods. No idea which, but outside Ilos the opacity is 0 (zero), no matter what I set it to. When I have time I will try to find out which mod might be the culprit here...
MH must have changed some things around. Will take a while for me to check as I'm on WiFi and I only have the HD version installed. Once I do, I'll see if this post needs updating.
EDIT: Updated the post to reflect the new changes.
Ive followed these directions but it doesnt appear to work. Im not sure if i havent changed enough files, or If i have to do ALL the compatiblity files, even the ones I am not using.
Image withTali_Vsr->VSR_Opacity set to 0.667: https://ibb.co/JtmWZyB Image withTali_Vsr->VSR_Opacity set to 0.999: https://ibb.co/BGsGPy1 As you can see, both are oplain as day.
This is again Opacity 0,667. This time I changed the color to R=0.2;G=0;B=0.1;A=0.667 : https://ibb.co/dK5j376
The color change is visible, but only if something is behind it that is in the background, thus outside Talis helmet.
No matter what you do to the visor (apart from setting the oppacity to something greater than 1 (looks weird!)), it has no effect on how Talis face is seen.
It is working. It's just not working the way you want it to. Because of the material used for the visor, this is the closest you'll get to opaque. You can attempt to use another material if you wish, as Mental has given permission to freely edit her files.
I'm new to this. If I want to use the vanilla visor do I need to do anything to the TaliOverHaul > Materials files? How to I default to using the LGTa files?
hello, i'm new to mass effect moding, and i'm trying to follow the guide to change the visor back to opaque, but i cant seam to find the file i need to edit, i have looked in most of the files in the package editor and i still have not found "tali_overhaul_0" if anyone could give some assistance i would appreciate it. if this matters i'm using the HD version of the mod. thanks in advanced and have a good day
Edit, after doing some more research I see that someone else was trying to do the same thing, but max opaque is still see through, and it was recommended to change the material, any recommendations of what material to change it to? Or how to change it? Once again, have a good day
I am not sure if its this mod but for some reason as I tried to install it, my whole pc started to freeze and even after deleting this, my pc keeps freezing sometimes. >.,.<
I must ask it because maybe I'm stupid but I didn't find any detailed instruction on how to install this mod and I have notice right now that there is a .m3m file in the mod, so should I have to install that file with Mass Effect Modder or them are automatically installed by the mod itself?? Sorry to bother but I need a bit of clarification because maybe I had screw up all my game and mod setup for the lack of information on how to.
I noticed Tali's eyes clipping pretty often, mainly when she turns her head to left and right. Is it possible for this problem to get fixed?
Edit: Version 2.3 of this mod and prior actually don't have this problem! So if any of you guys experience Tali's eyes clipping through her eyeholes, use V2.3 until a new patch fixes this issue.
Tali's new model was fine in the intro cutscene on the presidium but once addes to squad she reverted to a blacked out version of her ME1 skin, any ideas?
Thanks for providing the link and instructions. I was just reading through the threads to see if anyone else was experiencing this. Saved me the trouble of looking like an idiot considering this was already fixed.
Just wondering if there needs to be a patch for Liara Consistency Mod (Not Liara Consistency Project). In looking at the files I noticed that a few of the same files are modified in both mods. The problem is that she reverts back to her ME1 appearance during some Normandy cutscenes. The one I just discovered is after Virmire and I don't have any earlier saves. Just put this mod on. Yes, I did do a restore before adding this mod and textures after all content. Not sure which mod to comment on so I did it here.
I can confirm that she returns to her LCM appearance in cutscenes when this mod is disabled.
Can confirm the same issue, there's definitely an incompatibility with Liara Consistency Mod. I'd love a patch to get the two mods working together nicely, if it all possible.
Personally, I head canon that she can change the transparency of her helmet and when in meetings she tends to get shy and thus you can't see her face....
I adore this mod, I truly do. It makes me so happy, being able to see my love's face. But the only thing I don't get it, does it make her only able to wear the one armor appearance? I tried to give her Colossus armor, because I think she looks so damn good in the red and black, but she's still wearing the default armor shown in the pictures. If it's the case that it only lets her ever wear that, then that's fine, I prefer this to the red and black, but could we maybe get an option on install to have this mod either affect her entire outfit, as it seems to now, or just the faceplate and what's behind it? Either way, thank you so much for this!
I too was wondering about this. The LE2 and LE3 versions of this mod do a great job accounting for Tali's other outfits so I was really hoping the new model would work with the other quarian armours for LE1. Always feels good to go with full colossus for the whole team so It's a shame to have to leave Tali out despite how good she looks with this mod.

Note: Tali Overhaul is the *only* mod installed. Nothing else. I use the HD version.
Will update the post to reflect this.
Okay, then I see the misunderstanding here. The material is simply always fully transparent, no matter what. That, of course, explains everything.
(But the color can be changed, which is pretty cool. Thank you very much for the information!)

I have noticed that her eyes sockets sometime are not in line with her face did you ever notice that?

Edit: download this hotfix which was made by the modder https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gdu_1rgxQyiQJoLQiK1NRhU1KAbhQ38d/view
Place it in Your mass effect directory. Navigate to where you installed the game and then follow this path
Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Game\ME1\BioGame\DLC\DLC_MOD_TaliOverhaulHD\CookedPCConsole
Put the hotfix here, overwrite when asked.
This fixed the issue for me :)
If I look at the list in the Mod Manager, I cannot see it. How does this mod appear in the files if it's installeD?
I can confirm that she returns to her LCM appearance in cutscenes when this mod is disabled.
Edit: Hmm. Appears the one in that mod is a custom recolor, rather than the actual, proper Colossus. Know if there's any way to get the real Colossus?
