First off. Outstanding mod thank you. Always liked the idea that Shepard should look a bit artificial after cerberus put him/her back together, with a few extra parts (acording to jacob).
What i wanted to ask is what exactly happens if you install something other than stage 5 for renegade scars in LE3??

well I have been using the progressive on ME3 alongside the Renegade Scares for all mod with the invert so as my Paragon goes up the scares become more Pronounced even though I am not using the eye textures here (I'm using the wraith eyes cybernetic ones) the eyes become Brighter i am also streaming this so it works for me

So does the Color change of the eyes only work with THIS mod installed?

I absolutely love this mod. Is there any chance the Battle Scars version could be back-ported to replace one of the scar options in ME1?

I don't remember if opening Grunt's incubator gives paragon/renegade points or not.
It is possible that you dropped below the scarring threshold.
Otherwise I don't know what it could be. This mod only replaces textures. It doesn't alter when the scars appear, just how they look.

If you aren't using Renegade Scars for All you can use that to lock the scars in place so they do not change. You should also be able to set scars to stay in place in your headmorph.

    Hello!

First, kudos because this is a great idea, and the eyes/scars look really really cool. I'm looking forward to installing it.

Speaking of which, I want to install on my custom FShep Cracked Eyes that will increase with her Paragon level but no scars. Would you, please, tell me if I understood what I need to do?

Step 1: I install Murple's Clear Eyes for MELE
Step 2: I install Renegade Scars for All with the Inverted Progression option via ME3TMM
Step 3: I don't want to change her eyes color. I just want her eyes to change with her Paragon level so, do I need to follow the "how to change eye emissive colours" guide?
Step 4: I install the textures Cracked Eyes (Progression) + No Scars via Mass Effect Modder

    So, is it right ?

      Yes that should work.

The "how to change emmisive colours" guide is referenced because there can be a glitch with custom female shepards not having glowing eyes of any colour (red or otherwise).

I think some mods like LE3 Community patch may already address this, I just added this information to the guide as some extra help.

You will only need to edit the head morph if you notice the eyes don't glow and you would like them to.

Ok if I understood you right, I'll have to use the "how to change emmisive colours" guide only if her eyes don't glow, right?
      That should be simple.

Thanks for the reply. I'm playing LE1 right now, i can't wait to start LE2 and see how it goes.

Ok so I'm back after beating ME2 with your mods installed and that was great. Everything worked as planed and I loved it. Congratulations because it's a very cool idea. Kudos.

Now, I'm playing ME3 and something weird is happening. When talking to Hackett via vidcom in the War Room, his eyes are the same as my FShep's eyes: I installed MurpleClearEyes + SimpleCyberEye (prog) + No Scars.
And it happens to Hackett only so far. I'm at the beginning of the game so I don't know if it will happen to Anderson, but I did have a conversation with the Asari Councilor via vidcom (after Palaven) and her eyes were hers.

I'm sorry,I don't know how to upload a pic in my comment, so I'll post it in the "images" menu and here is a link to my diagnostics if needed: https://me3tweaks.com/modmanager/logservice/logviewer?logid=59191b978f2e1c6dcd579e239b26f903

Someone mentioned this happening on the first version of this mod. For some reason Hackett seems to use something like Shepard's stage 3 renegade eyes rather than the same eye base as everyone else. I don't know why this would be the case as it seems the other hologram characters do not do this either.

Vanilla renegade eyes have no effect at stage 1,2 and 3 (they are the same) - I added more progression levels to my modded eyes not expecting this to be an issue.
I think I found which .pcc file which might be using the texture it but I will have to investigate it some more to see what I can do.

It's not really a glitch in the mod so much as a texture overlap I did not expect. I did not think to do more checking into the texture usages at the time.

If it is extremely bothersome you should be able to remove the eyes using the "restore to vanilla" file or installing another eye texture mod. I don't know when I will get to seeing if I can fix this.

Ok. Tell me if I got this right. If I install SimpleCyberEye (static), will that be enough and fix the issue? Or should I install another type of eye... like EDI Eyes, for instance?

I am 99% sure it's going to be an issue with all eye types even without testing in-game. They all replace the same vanilla textures with their own new ones. Even between progression and static.

I am probably going to have to edit the LE3 files to only give eye progression on stages 4 and 5 as it seems Hackett uses the stage 3.

How about installing SimpleCyberEyes locked at stage 5? Will that fix the issue?

I'm hoping I'm not bothering you with my questions...

You can try but I am pretty sure it won't fix it. I am still trying to track down where Hackett's holograms are in the game files to see if there is something I can do with that.

Yep, I tried and you were right, nothing worked. What a bummer!

So now, I'm torn. I know that we don't see Hackett that often in game but when I see him with the modded eyes, he just looks too weird.Hm. Decisions, decisions.

In any case, thanks for your help.

I added an experimental file to this modpage that fixes the eye issue with hackett's hologram. I don't have time to run through and test it in an entire playthrough. I would appreciate if you could give it (more of) a test for me.

It requires the LE3 community patch but I saw you were using that anyways.

It won't break your savegame or anything - If there is an issue you can delete/disable it in ME3Tweaks.

Hey! Here is your 1st update

So I was able to test your Experimental mod with 5 different characters and so far the results have been... mixed

#1 Sybille, created before your Experimental mod (EM), custom FShep imported into ME3, used EM mid-run:
      - Vidcom with Hackett post Mars = fail (Hackett has got modded eyes)
      - post Citadel I, before Palaven = OK (Hackett's eyes are his)
      - post Palaven = fail

#2 Claire, created after EM, custom FShep imported, used EM mid-run:
      - post Mars = fail
      - post Citadel I = OK
      - post Palaven = OK

#3 Jane, created after EM, default FShep non imported, new run
      - post Mars = OK
      - post Citadel I = OK
      - post Palaven = OK

#4 Valérie, created after EM, custom FShep imported, new run:
      - post Mars = fail

#5 Zoé, created after EM, custon FShep non imported, new run:
      - post Mars = fail

Tomorrow, I'll resume Valérie's and Zoé's run up to Palaven but it seems that EM works for default FShep at least. Do you want me to test your Experimental mod when playing as MShep? I'm not sure Shepard's genre is relevant but... tell me.

There shouldn't be any difference with different genders. Since I used LE3 community patch to make the edit I will have to go back and see if there are any other pccs I need to pull out and edit.
Thanks for testing it for me!

      Update #2

So I played as Valérie and Zoé up to Palaven today and in both cases, during the vidcoms post Citadel I and post Palaven, Hackett's eyes were his.

Now, I'll be honest, I won't be able to play 5 runs at the same time so I'll continue the Valérie run and see how it goes. But from what I saw, so far
      - the vidcom post Mars has still an issue unless using a default FShep
      - installing the Experimental mod for a new run is preferable

That's totally ok! You don't need to do too much for me. I just wanted a little confirmation that it does work in other places since I only had one save with one place I could test it quickly.

Unfortunately it's looking like I may have to go and reduce all the eye textures to two stages like the vanilla one. This sucks because I liked how the extended progression with the eyes matched up with the scars. I will have to go back and take a better look at things this weekend.

Quick update, I don't know if that will help but a weird thing happened today.

Remember, last time I told you that during Valérie's and Zoé's run, Hackett's eyes were his during the convo post Citadel I and post Palaven? Well, today, out of curiosity, I launched the save post Palaven and in both cases, Hackett's eyes were back to being modded.

I didn't do anything different so I really don't understand.

My today's diag, if that's relevant:

      Update :

I've been playing with your mod installed during the week and I won't be able to play this week-end so here it is: bad news, after Palaven, Hackett's eyes were modded in all and every vidcoms, no exception.

For info, I've just finished Citadel II and discussed with Anderson and Hackett.

Ooops, sorry for the scare, didn't mean to. ^_^

So, I reloaded each save before each Priority mission and good news, in all of our vidcoms, Hackett's eyes were his.Earlier today, I played the mission on Gellix with Jacob and during the debriefing, Hackett's eyes were normal too.
I'll continue to play and I'll post an update if the modded eyes make an appearance but it seems that the 1.1 version of SimpleCyberEyes works as intended. Yay!

OK. So I'm done with ME3 and I'm happy to say that there was no issue, no glitch nor weird eyes. Hackett's eyes were his in all conversations and in all vidcoms after main and N7 missions.

So, congratulations because your mod is awesome and I loved seeing my FShep with her Simple Cyber Eyes, locked to stage 5.

I cannot wait to test another kind of eyes. Kudos and mod endorsed by the way ^_^
