How to install: 1) Download my mod and Mass Effect Modder from GitHub*Not the NoGui version 2) Extract my mod and the .exe with your favourite zip extracting program and place it anywhere. (I recommend creating a folder for all your MELE mods)? 3) Run MassEffectModder.exe, click 'Texture Manager' under Mass Effect 2 and let it scan for a few minutes. (You'll only have to do this once) 4) Once it's finished scanning, click 'Exit Texture Manager' and go to Mods Manager > Mods Installer > Add to List. 5) Click on the .mem file you want to use then > Install Selected Mods. 6) Profit.
it takes seconds and barely any effort, I went from being very scared of it to using it constantly to go stomping around in the files getting my little goblin hands on all the shiny things I find. I'm an idiot and I figured it out, I have faith in you
For step 3, is it actually required that your game be vanilla (completely unmodded?) Because I'm already partway through ME1 and have the ME3tweaks mods that I want for the entire trilogy already installed, so I pressed cancel when I reached this point, not wanting to mess anything up. Can I just press continue there or will I f*** everything up? (PS, I do not have a backup because I am an idiot with limited space on his hard drive)
it doesn't have to be vanilla, but you can't install any more content (i.e. non texture mods) after you've run it, or you'll break the textures in your game.
Strangely enough, I tried testing the theory when I found out the hard way that even updating an existing DLC mod will remove textures that have been applied.
You can't recompile the initial scan, but I was able to reapply the textures to LE1 and LE3 directly, without running the scan again - which does require a vanilla restoration of the game and its texture files - and had absolutely no issues whatsoever.
I don't know what ended up broken for other peoples' games by reapplying them, but in spite of the error message, all textures and mods went right back in without a hitch.
Thanks for this! As part of my personal "make Miranda not ugly" mod set; this suit with her face from Primitives, and bun hairstyle from Miranda hair replacer is the only way I can stand having her in my squad. Endorsed!
The matte loyalty outfit texture came out looking light blue for some reason. Installed it via the Mass Effect Modder in ME3Tweaks Mod Manager as with every other texture, yet it's the only one that came out looking wrong. Any clue why?
This is actually a really good retexture. I can't find any faults with it and I usually have complaints about these sort of thing because they are badly done for some reason or another.
JeanLuc761 did a really good job on it, all my edits were just gilding the lily. It used to just be buried in a collection of other less extensive texture mods and I've always felt like it deserved its own page
