You are probably getting tired of requests to mod your mod, but there is another change to this mod which many players would find useful. StrikeTheBl00d requested a change to your 250-second hover mod, to add a tripling of shield strength while in the air. I have no interest in a 250-second hover mod, which seems absurd (and I think many players would agree). I am installing your 5-second hover, but it would be really great if you could add the tripling of shield strength to the 5-second hover. The shield boost during hover actually makes a lot of sense, because it provides protection when the Pathfinder is up in the air and a much better target, whether for 5 or 250 seconds. Thanks for all your work so far, and happy modding!
Might be worth noting in the mod description that "hovering" is specifically holding aim while jumping. I initially thought the mod didn't work for me until I read through all the comments below and saw @Zaggart's.
The mod is great for gameplay, but I held off downloading it for a while (despite it being on the recommended mod list) because I thought it meant double jetpack duration.
The reason I was confused was because of the way the jump jet works. It sort of happens in two stages: first you launch up, but then you "hang" for a moment at the top before falling down, even if you don't hold the aim button.
Before I understood the mechanic fully, I just assumed the total jump jet "cycle" was 2.5 seconds, and that your mod made it 5 seconds by increasing the "hang time" at the top of the jump.
Can i ask you a favor please? can you do x3 shield and infinite hover together please? since im a total newbie in MEA modding i have no clue how to edit those files please!!
If you want to change stats yourself, it's pretty easy: The player base stats are stored in ExcelDataImports/PlayerStats: https://i.imgur.com/3B1EuxT.png You can see in progression/stats/statlists/statlist_playersp which stats corresponds to which value: https://i.imgur.com/Ag6QFHo.png
I just tried your mod and it is not working for me. I am using the Infinite_Hover_Duration.fbmod and it does nothing at all. It sure would be nice if it would work. I am using FMM 1.0.5.7 because 1.0.5.9 will not work for me.
Both work fine for me. Do you have the newest Frosty version (1.0.5.9)? When exactly do you get an error, while adding the file or when you start the game?
No, sorry, the newest doesn't work for me (apparently, a common issue), so the recommended procedure is to use a previous version. I have noticed newer mods just don't work with people in my case. Nothing wrong about your mod.
Hello just to be clear, hovering is when you jump and aim right? Not just pressing space bar and holding it? If it is the first, is it considered working even tho I still slowly fall to the ground? I understand hovering like how a helicopter does it, it stays motionless in the air not moving forward, backward, left or right and not slowly descending to the ground.
Yes, that's what hovering means in this game. This mod just increases the time you can hover. I'm not aware of a way to completely remove the slow descend.

Out ofcuriosity: What did you think this mod would do? There isn't really any other hover mechanic, is there?

Anyways, thanks for clarifying!

I will try to modify for myself thank you again.
Thank you.
