***[IMPORTANT]*** If you don't set the controller dead zone to maximum (which is modded to 100%), you will have problems in the menus. If you don't bind [WASD] to the left or right thumb-stick, you will have problems. If you don't bind the mouse to the opposite thumb-stick, you will obviously have problems.
So I followed this step by step, after the last step (set the dead zone to max) what should happen? I returned to configuration and it’s the same, there’s no option to change the mapping
Interesting mod ! i always thought there was no way to change bindings in this game.
Do you know how i could remove bindings for dpad ? like having all button to default and only dpad unbound. i tried to look in soldierconcepts file after seeing that's the file you modified and went through all 200 commands without seeing dpad in there. any information would be appreciated
OMG, I really have no idea... It took me hours and hours and hours to unbind everything... I dont remember where the d-pad is... What you could do, is simply rebind the default buttons to xpadder, if you have that program...
I am pretty sure you will find it close to the beginning... I don't for the life of me remember the name... You have to go through and expand everything and check them one by one.
You are looking for multiple keybindings (ones with PC and Controller Drop downs)... Don't bother looking at it if it doesnt have both... Also, remember, you have to adjust both combat and exploration... I think 1 and 3 are the menu numbers (or modes)... But don't quote me on that... Best way to find out is to unbind the [A] button on your controller and see when it is unbound... Remember, there are multiple commands for the buttons, so you will have to find and remove them all typically....
Hi, thank you for this. Definitely making use of it - might share my Xpadder config later. One thing- Left Stick (Run/jump) still activates Show Objective - which is a default combat/exploration setting
EDIT: after some usage, although I REALLY like the idea, it is too unwieldy in practice. Unmapping the sticks movement just creates havoc in menus, very annoying. It also means the game constantly thinks I am playing with a keyboard so I get the wrong onscreen button prompts. As you just used Xpaddr to map the sticks back to movement anyway this setting is especially baffling, also triggers are just mapped them to default any way. I think a version with these set to default and just Buttons (buttons as per xpadders setup settings) would be an improvement.
The reason for this is simple. Use Backlash biotic power and you will see why I had to do it :)
There is a problem with the coding in the game causing Backlash and powers like it to stop working every time you look around. Just cast the power, hold the button in, and look around with the sensitivity less than 100%. You will see what I mean, and there is no way around it.
So, the only solution was to unbind the controller thumb-sticks.
AND, dont forget to follow the instructions to and turn the dead zone up to 100%, you shouldn't be getting controller button prompts at all... Wrong button prompts is just something you have to deal with, friend... :)
I don't have any problems in menus at all with the unbound thumbsticks. I think you perhaps did not turn the dead zone up to 100%?
As for the galaxy map, I use the mouse, I recommend using the mouse for that, its just easier.
