download from here and paste it MEA folder https://www.dll-files.com/download/70fd77f1b9464bbef0425b47b2100173/dinput8.dll.html?c=clFPYytDUXFsbWovbDdjSjBLVlVnUT09
DON'T DOWNLOAD THIS. I tried it and while it fixed the mouse pointer issue completely, after 15 minutes it corrupted all the save games made after I copied the file into my root directory. I had to go back to my last manual save and it looks like I'll have to do a complete re-install to make autosaves work again.
1. Its a safe tool since I have BitDefender and even FLiNG cannot get away with it. 2. You know when it launches with a tiny white mouse icon on your system tray shows up 3. Press your scroll lock key on your keyboard to hide/show your mouse cursor
NOTE: This also works not just in MEA, but also with Windows alone, so remember to toggle it after quitting the game.
So, this didn't work for me at first. The game refused to launch. I'm not sure why. However, I was able to get it working by installing the Frosty Mod Suite and then launching the game from the Mod Suite. I didn't plan on using any mods for the game, but I saw that there were a few that I would like to use. The bug fix patches and some of the small overhauls were worth it. So I downloaded those mods based on a tutorial video and then installed this Cursor Fix mod by dragging the dinput8.dll into the main folder of the game's directory. Also, if you run into issues with the Frosty Mod manager not wanting to launch the game, just run it as an administrator and that will fix the issue. Now I have all of my mods working including this mouse cursor fix. I scrounged through the comments section on here to see if anyone could get it working, but couldn't find anything. This is what fixed it for me. I think it's worth running the few other mods in addition to this one.
Here is a tutorial video that I followed to get the Mod Manager running. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCzKH1U5rGg&t=162s&ab_channel=JoeHammerGaming
Also, if you can't get to the Frost Mod Suite website, here is think link where I was able to download the application. https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=%21AM2A1yd9ot7gbUU&id=1789C09665526241%213320&cid=1789C09665526241&parId=root&parQt=sharedby&o=OneUp
For me, it isn't just visible, my whole game locks out when I alt+tab out to the desktop. I can't do anything except go to the Steam overlay and even then it just opens up the menu.
i guess i'm one of the unlucky ones, does not work for me. placed the file into main game directory, after several attempts the game wont load, seeing a blackscreen no changes, with the other attempts there wasnt even a blackscreen. signing out/reset to no avail, have a freshly installed W10 home edition. i will take my chances without this fix, if there is no other alternative (pc spec: i7 13700KF, RTX 4080)
Nice mod, I wanted to try it but it stops game from launching, game just hang when trying to launch. Im using frosty mod launcher. Anyone know how to fix this?
