Changelogs
Version 1.2
Added localized hud text for the number of currently active life support consumables
Version 1.1b
Adds a disctinct sound for backup cell activation, additionally plays the Overdrive pack hum during backupcell duration
modifies the LifeSupport recharge rate, allowing a normal recharge time in safe zones
Version 1.0
Allows stacking of up to 3 cells, and increases duration to 600 seconds + bonus
Backup Life Support was never bugged, it just provided an 80% environmental hazard resistance bonus for a whole whooping 30 seconds.
This mod lets you gain the vanilla 80% additional resistance against environmental hazards for 10 minutes instead of the original 30 seconds. Also allows to stack up to three backup life support cells, and withstand hazards 3.4 times longer than usual. This mod is best used together with the No Consumables Cooldown mod by munchyfly. (Get it here or on Patreon)
Note:
The status effects of the consumable are not persisted in save files! So if you use a consumable, save, and then load that save the increased hazard resistance is gone.
The hazard resistance applies to life support recharge as well, meaning the more hazard resistance you have, the longer recharging will take. This mod does change the recharge stat, but that is not actually taken into account in the game.
New in v 1.2: Now also displays the currently active number of Life Support consumables in the HUD! This requires the use of the Frosty Mod Manager version 1.0.6 Alpha 3 or newer (current version at the time of this release was the alpha 5) with the Bioware Localization Plugin installed, and the matching text mod from here being applied! I couldn't test whether the Polish and Russian texts actually work, but considering the others do show up, i'm pretty sure that they will.
Optional Versions: There are two optional versions available that can be used instead of the main download, which offer different durations and hazard resistances. Use only one of these versions at a time. These optional downloads have the same requirements as the main file! Old versions that do not require the plugin or the text resources are still available as well.
Note about localizations: The added text is currently available in English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Russian, and Spanish. If you miss the language you are playing in, send me a message and we'll figure out how you can help create that missing localization! I provided all localizations that I can create myself. For other language packs someone else with the required resources in their game file would need to create the mod file.
Added Text ID: This mod adds the text id 0x36200
