NEW CORA (HEAD SWAP) VERSION 2 Uploaded! - Swaps Cora's Head with Preset 10 Complexion and hmf_hair_c. Works for Casual, Loadout and Combat. Romance Untested, may be buggy or not work at all? I will not be making any changes or taking any requests on this mod from this point on.
The original New Cora mod is discontinued aswell, I will not be updating it full stop.
It takes far too much time and energy and I am way too busy to dedicate myself any further. Crayti is taking over this project and If you have any suggestions, requests or questions perhaps he may be willing to help. Cora Redux (WIP) by crayti http://www.nexusmods.com/masseffectandromeda/mods/423/?
Well... for me it's a big NO, coused my game to crash while using scanner, it took me a long time to find the cuplrit, so if u're having the same issue then that's your answer. I don't know how or why, It did not conflict with any other mod so if you know, please enlighten me.
Huzzah! I am not alone! And after TWO HOURS of slowly going through my list I found it was this cora mod that cause my scanner to break!
You have no idea the relief I got seeing you have this problem.
That said: It's the outlines and overlays. When the scanner opens and you go to look at other players they have a several active layers applied to them. The mods seem not to change all of the reference points so the scanner freaks out when the player models references don't match what it has for the scanners references. Instant crash. This isn't the only player model tweak that causes it either. A few of the peebee ones cause it as well.
I do not know how to fix this. I spent all day just learning how to learn to find this problem let alone attempt repairs on a LONG forgotten mod.
For now though? This one just gets turned off and I can actually start my playthrough without crashing trying to scan that damned lucky rock at the start!
I have never had these CTDs and have used most all of the replacers at Nexus on many playthroughs. This is something unique to several users and may be a conflict or another issue unique to your setup. I would test the mod on a completely vanilla setup with no other mods first then try to repair my game or even check on a new game if the issue persisted.
I did a fast scroll through the comments and I don't see anyone else having the same problem as you two and the mod has 315 endorsements. I could be wrong...just pointing this out in case it helps you out.
Hey, there! Great work with this one. I've been working on a Cora mod and I've been having some trouble figuring a few things out (how to edit hair colour in FrostyEditor, and have an alternate complexion show up for combat, casual, and nude models, namely). I know you're not modding this game anymore, but is there any chance you'd be willing to upload the project file? It would really help me out. If not, thanks anyway.
Sorry its been a while. I don't check this site enough! Unfortunately I don't have any files left from my time spent on this. Hope you worked things out anyway!
These mods are always nice but the main issue in the end is the shape of her face, it needs some serious smoothing out to be less square shaped otherwise her cheeks are always going to look weird. Ridiculous how bioware made the game so hard to mod, I remember that dragon age inquisition had the same issue with character heads, so you were forced to romance between two rather unappealing women.
well 1 year later...in the description says ''Romance Untested, may be buggy or not work at all?'' so...someone tested this mod on romance cutscenes already? it works fine? i dont want to download a mod that can screw up a nice romantic scene(or even crash the game)not to mention we cant replay the cutscene again so that would be annoying.
I don't suppose you'd be willing to share the .fbproject file? I'm currently trying to see if I can't put my own Cora mod together, but it's very tricky trying to trace back all the dependencies and I'd like to use your mod as a starting point, if possible.
Hey jdim, I know you're no longer working on this mod, but I was wondering if you might give me a few pointers. Do you know of any sites or pages that talk a bit about how to mod this game? Specifically with head swaps? Heh, ideally there'd be a way to create a head in CC and then export it to an NPC, but I'm aware it's not that simple. I ask because I really love your remake of Cora (she was hideous), but with you leaving this mod, there really aren't any other Cora head swaps, and I'm afraid Crayti's mod looks even worse than the original. I'd just like to make a few tweaks to Cora's eyes on your mod. Right now they look kinda bloodshot, almost zombie-ish. I've got photoshop and plenty of other tools, just not sure where to start...
Actually, eye color is the one thing that doesn't seem to have a texture (unless I just don't see it), which makes me think the RGB values would be in one of the DynamicMorphHeadData files...would appreciate it if you could point me to the right values and I can experiment from there...
There's not much I can tell you I'm afraid. I never personally touched the eyes in this mod. I assume they're default to preset 10? If you could find the eyes textures or values for that preset, you could in theory change them for this mod. Ultimately all we did with this was swap out the preset data to use different values for head and hair. And sadly, most don't actually work very well or indeed look worse, evidently from crayti's experiments so far hopefully he can come up with some good stuff when he learns the tools and what's possible more . This field of modding is a little beyond me which is one reason I've abandoned this and passed it onto him. I just don't have time to learn all this and keep at it. I wish you luck in your endeavour though.
Haha, it appears we have the same issue. It's be a fun thing to learn, but damn it's daunting, and I'd rather be playing... Thanks for the info about preset 10 though, that might help. I haven't been able to figure out what there is to edit for eyes, since there seem to be set textures and maps, but I think the color/tint is dynamic, and I don't know where that value would be stored...
Same. Two things that lost me when working on this was hair colour and eye colour. I gave up in the end but I wouldn't be surprised if I was just missing something. Or it could be a case of the tools not being advanced enough yet...
I actually managed to figure out eye color, and I imagine hair color would be about the same (unless it's tied to a texture rather than a tint parameter as in eyes). Trouble is that although I figured out how to change Cora's eye color, I haven't been able to figure out the name of the new head preset you used in order to track down where the eye tint values for that particular head are stored.
