additional warning after spending 3 hours narrowing down my issues to this mod: If you equip a sniper and zoom in at any point during the next combat encounter you'll begin to experience some or all of the following issues on any mission/level -no new banter or non-cutscene dailogue will play -new objects you encounter that should be scannable are not -some objects will no longer load in -parts of the level will stop loading in. sometimes just scenery in the distance but sometimes there's a untextured wall where a path should be
for anyone thinking of using this mod. there are "game breaking" bugs during the mission "a trail of hope" where it prevents the first cutscene from loading forcing you to alt f4 and the second cutscene gets stuck after the second line of dialogue. also had some issues with missing or transparent textures during that mission. didn't bother to do anymore testing. removed from my list. =(
Not to hijack this comment thread, but if anyone is interested I made a mod for the Raptor sniper rifle removing the scope UI, and tweaking a couple of other things to essentially convert it to an assault rifle. hi im searching for an mod wich disable sniper zoom too ( adjustable zoom would be great wehere you can choose to zoom or not, but i think its not possible )

ill fired up Frosty and looked for the values and gonna try to make an modfile where my sniper rifle has no zoom at all problem is that it will still have the scope overlay
my masseffect is up to date ( 1.10 i think ) can i simply put your file in the load order bevor the mod wich removes zoom and it will work and will it work at all because you noted your mod is only for 1.05 ?
and if it not compatible could you tell me how you removed the overlay so i could try it myself ?

Update: Looks like setting FOVOverride value to 30 and removing scope UI does the job
