"Streaming Overhaul", "Level of Detail", "LOD Mod".... what do any of these names actually mean?
What isit that we hyped so much?
Take a look:
"So what the heck happened in the original game?" Well, it's quite simple. Short explanation:
Spoiler:

For optimization reason and due to console restrictions, each level in Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3 had to be separated into pieces. Pieces would get loaded and unloaded as you progress through the level, making sure that only your immediate area is visible. The rest of the level would be minimized as much as possible. This is also why backtracking through levels is rarely ever possible.
However, when creating levels, environment artists did not account for these separations. They're not programmers or QA testers. They were simply tasked with creating beautiful and memorable areas.
Unfortunately, as a result of these optimizations and other compromises, no player ever got to experience any level the way they were supposed to. Environment artists were never truly appreciated for their work.
This changes now, and with zero performance impact. Changes apply to every single level, during both gameplay and cutscenes, so you will get to experience your favorite moments like never before.
Jokes aside, I actually will restore it. I'm planning to release "Cutting Room Floor" which is gonna be an open-source project that restores cut content, and that all modders can contribute to (nobody will, let's be real, but the idea is nice).
Among other things, it will include Kirrahe, as well as the Anderson/Shepard dialogue that this Unofficial Patch has become known for and that people have been asking me to port for years.
I'm also in the process of negotiating that the fixes this Unofficial Patch contains, and that the LE3 Community Patch is missing, get ported over as part of an update for the Community Patch.
In retrospect, I should've kept the Unofficial Patch as a strictly bug fix/streaming overhaul project and put restored cut content in a separate mod. So the plan I layed out for LE3 will hopefully merge the best of both worlds.
oooo nice. May I ask, any plans on porting something like your amazing Illusive Man Confrontation mod to LE? Honestly just curious, Ik something like POEM isnt gonna be but confrontation mod is one of the things that LE 3 is missing, ofc with my all my other mods that is lol
That mod was the main contender when I was considering which mod to port. It was either that one or Immersive Thessia. At one point I considered running a Twitter poll to see which one people would prefer, but ultimately I decided to go for the more popular one which is Thessia.
Modding cutscenes is a huge pain in the ass, and FCOM is precisely that. However, even when I was making it originally, it took me like 5 days - and that's including testing and difficulty balancing. The whole mod went from conceptualization to release in a span of one week, so with the finished product already available, the porting process would be incredibly fast.
I'm not saying I'll do it. Like I said, cutscenes are just a major headache. But of all my OT3 mods that one has the highest likelihood of being ported next.
Apologies for butting into this conversation, but just wanted to ask if I am getting this right:
The next update is still going to be for the non-LE edition as well? (restored Kirrahe stuff etc.) The reason I am asking is that I am currently about to do a 2nd non-LE playthrough of ME3, so was just wondering if I should hold off on that still, haha
The next update for the Unofficial Patch? Yes, only for OT. The Kirrahe stuff you mentioned is already in the mod. In regards to restoring cut content, the next update will focus on the Galaxy Map (there's a ton of stuff there), some mechanics and sequences during N7: Cerberus Fighter Base, and voice lines during some missions. But the primary focus will be on bug fixing.
But keep in mind that the update is still ways off. Not only has it been stuck in development hell for more than a year, but I'm currently focusing on my LE work.
Truth be told, the majority of the update is actually finished, and has been for a long time. I can send you a WIP version if you want. Just remember that there will be some issues, seeing as it is a WIP version after all, but I can warn you ahead of time on what the issues are and how to avoid them.
Thank you for this awesome mod Orikon! :) Can you please update the mod with more cutscene weapons fix? Thats the only reason I keep going back to project variety over your mod?
Hello, looks really great, thank you for your hard work! Can I use my saves from previous games with this patch and your Priority Earth Overhaul Mod? Are they compatible with each other? Which languages does they support besides English?
All compatible and working with old saves, no worries.
Unofficial Patch is technically functional in all languages, I just can't guarantee that it's bug free. Apparently there's some issues with Aria's restored content. PEOM is perfectly compatible.
Hi! Sorry for my English, I use a translator. I am from Russia, and unfortunately your mod is not adapted to my native language. I would like to express my GREAT respect for UME3P and EDI. You are a glimmer of light in the dark realm of modifications for ME3 :). I really want to play with your modifications, but I do not speak English, which spoils the overall look of the game (. I wish you success and iron determination. The whole of Russia is waiting for version 1.3 :). With love.
TL;DR the only problem if you playing russian localization is dialogue wheel of Aria T'Loak it doesnt work properly so you need to switch to english to progress her quest line. Otherwise everything works just fine.
Not me or anyone else here. Guess you'll just have to accept that some things won't be available in the Legendary Edition. But you can also try asking in the modding discords - they're supposedly helpful and what-not.
My bad if this has already been addressed or if I'm just being dumb, but when you say UME3P is compatible with other major mods, does this include the Tali Romance Mod? I can't find any information over there, and it seems the author is currently not around to answer questions. I ask mainly because TRM makes changes to the Tali photo, I believe, but might also make (very minor) changes to other things surrounding Rannoch. For instance: In vanilla, a Javik line that plays post-Rannoch for siding with the Quarians over the Geth doesn't play for anyone who brokered peace, despite being applicable for both; TRM fixes this.
TRM being a drag'n'drop DLC mod, I don't think there would be any problems, per se, but I just want to make sure.
No idea. Your best bet is to try and see for yourself. The Unofficial Patch has a very high mount priority, so it will probably override whatever TRM does, unless TRM has a higher mount than UME3P.
Oh, damn, I only just now saw you got back to me on this. Nexus needs to improve notifications of this sort of thing. Thanks, regardless. I seem to recall I went ahead and used TRM anyway, and didn't run into any issues that I remember, so all good on that front.
Hello, I really liked your mod. Amazing work. I would like to know how much this project is better than the Recalibrated, whether it will include new content, corrections made to the legendary edition, and how much it restores the cut content. Sorry for so many stupid and unnecessary questions, but I'm very interested
Will the news that was restored in the Legendary edition be restored? I would also like to know if it is possible to return the war assets Cerberus escapees that were given for passing Mass Effect Infiltrator.
I made a little mistake for the 3rd part nothing was restored https://masseffect.fandom.com/wiki/News_Stories Question: Will the endings also be corrected as in the Legendary Edition?
As I noticed, slides with Miranda in the original M3 appear at the end of control and synthesis and at the end of destruction is missing. In the legendary edition this problem is fixed and the slide appears. Whether, there are such fixes with other slides? I do not know.
Are you sure? The slide looks as appropriate as possible, and it looks more like an error of the original M3 than the legendary edition. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQ1O_w0ksgw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aT2L2ckllEwAlso, I"m sorry to bother you with my messages. You"re just the only one who deals with the original M3 and who wanted to fix all the bugs. Also, thank you very much for working on the original trilogy, while everyone switched to the legendary edition.
Do you have a complete list of all the restored content somewhere? I don’t see it on the mod page, unless I missed something. I love looking into the cut content of these games, and I’m curious if this mod restores anything I’ve never seen.
Also, sorry if you’ve answered this elsewhere, but are you planning to update this patch in the near future?
So, i have a little suggestion for the next update that if you didn't noticed, you might consider to fix it! It's Shepard's memorial scene, if you pick the destroy ending then Garrus will disappear when Liara or LI were going to put Shepard's name on the Astra Per Aspera. I hope you add this bug fix for the future update🔥
I remember it was a vanilla bug and you can watch the video of mass effect 3 extended cut video to be more sure. And i'm sorry that i mentioned "Astra per Aspera" since i don't know what is that thing they used to hang Shepard's name😅
Good job for perfecting our masterpiece here, what a nice mod. But, i've got something to ask. Will there be any future update for this mod in the mean time?
Yes, the upcoming Patch 1.3 is designed to be the final update, but it's been in development hell this entire year. I've got a to-do list but it's so massive that I'm not sure if I can or will ever finish it. I am just one guy.
But I also don't wanna downsize the list because if I can complete it, this game would truly become an almost flawless masterpiece in all regards.

It includes new content. It includes corrections from the Legendary Edition. It restores a lot of cut content.
You can see everything if you look at the mod description page.
Can you clarify what you're reffering to? I don't recall any news being restored in the "remaster" of ME3.
Possible, yes. But that would have to be a brand new mod, not a part of the Unofficial Patch.
Question: Will the endings also be corrected as in the Legendary Edition?
Look, whatever I had to backport from the Legendary Edition, I already did. It even says so on the mod page.
If anything, it's a bug in the Legendary Edition.

But there's plenty of showcased examples. Look at the Videos section and there's also 3 linked examples under the cut content section on the mod page.
Can you 100% confirm that this is a vanilla bug, and not related to another mod? The "Ad Astra Per Aspera" you mentioned is part of MEHEM.
But I also don't wanna downsize the list because if I can complete it, this game would truly become an almost flawless masterpiece in all regards.
