DRESS BLUE is pretty much finished now!

Version 2.1 is -for now- the Final Version! It delivers everything I wanted to achieve with it and I know a constant stream of work-in-progress updates is no fun when you just want to play the game.

    Next Steps
I will now tidy up the mod page and might release some compatibility patches to other mods. If you have a specific request, please comment. After that, I will move to ME2 and ME1 to see if the same can be done there.

    KNOWN ISSUES & BUGS

    VANILLA:
    1. CITADEL_DLC / In the Restaurant Scene with Shepard and Joker, Maya Brooks will first appear in the regular Uniform when she stands in the Crowd at the french bouncer. -> I don't know why this is the case, but it looks a bit like a pre-rendered video playing.
    2. PROLOGUE_EARTH / The Council Aide and the Female Council Member share the same Uniform -> FIXED in v2.1
    3. PROLOGUE_EARTH / Both Male Council Members share the same uniform -> FIXED in v2.1
    4. PROLOGUE_EARTH / The Background Extras share the same uniform -> WON'T FIX
    5. CHARACTER SCREEN / On the character screen (only in non-combat mode) you will see Shepard in the Council's Uniform (CTHa)
    6. CITADEL_PURGATORY / Cortez wears Joker's Uniform in Purgatory -> Will fix that in an upcoming release

    EGM:
    1. PROLOGUE_EARTH / Ashley Williams will not wear the right uniform during the prologue on earth
    2. PROLOGUE_EARTH / James Vega wears his standard outfit during a cutscene between the prologue on Earth and Mars -> FIXED in v2.0
    3. CRASH AFTER INTRO / There is an issue with Vega that leads to a crash right after the intro sequence -> WORKAROUND: Change James Vega's Outfit back to his default T-Shirt in the EGM Settings (You can change is to Dress Blue anytime later. -> I will try to fix this in a later version
    4. NORMANDY/CITADEL / Ashley Williams wears Shepards Uniform -> FIXED in the latest EGM Patch (v2.2)

    PROJECT VARIETY:
    1. The Citadel ATC has a -barly noticable- voice modification -> WON'T FIX (Very Minor)

    ARK MOD
    1. The corpse of the Captain on the Derelict Initiative Ship wears the Female Council Uniform (Very Minor Issiue)

    OMEGA HUB
    1. All Crewmembers wear the stn dard fatigue

If you find any more bugs, let me know and please share some screenshots of the different Shepard Versions

    Have Fun!

I just released a Dark and Light Skin Version for Shepard,

Gloves can be made, but I would do a version later on.

This mod adds such great detail to the uniforms, but the awful hands kills it for me.
Is it not possible to copy and paste the original hands onto the texture maps? Or ask Ortemis for permission to use the hands from his HR Alliance Uniforms texture upgrade?
    I can't stand my hands....or Traynor's.
    Please...

      Hi Joe43k

Sorry for the late reply. 2.2 (the latest version from the files section) is correct. This must have been a mistake on my part. Either way should work fine.

Does it fix the crippled and old person hands whenever shepard wears it? Because that has been bugging me for eons.

      Hi ZalantheSophia

      Unfortunately, no.

I try to get around that issue as much as possible with offering many varieties in terms of skin color, but the hand issue is still there in cutscenes. I found the "latino" option works best for anyone who is not really dark skinned.

A true HD rescalling of the hand texture is required to fix the issue for good.

      @askavian
First of all, thanks for this awesome mod. Really like the immersive aspect of the different uniform "extensions". Before I get to the issue at hand (pun intended to be of higher quality xD), I wanted to utter some of MY Uniform perceptions across the Trilogy. Shepard being Lieutenant Commander possibly from 2176 (Skyllian Blitz), 2177 (Akuze), 2178 (Torfan) to 2183 (Becoming Staff CMDR along with the Spectre Promotion) or 2186 (Reinstatement/Promotion); so either way Staff Commander in ME3. Joker (Flight LT) refers to the Alliance Traffic Controller as being a higher Rank (NCO does not make sense here), so either LT or First LT or even LT CMDR seems appropriate. Not sure what the vanilla look was, but in my opinion up to LT CMDR for the Traffic Controller could be argued as either being a supervisor or handling the "VIP" (Shepard/Normandy). Any chance of providing a tpf for the Traffic Controller to modify it myself? I do not have much experience in modding "post" ALOT, but have GIMP and the ME3 Tweaks Toolchain (including Mass Effect Modder), so in theory it would only be editing the "Picture" (dds?) and getting the location/reference/name right, if I am not mistaken.

Regarding the issue at HAND: as I have ran into similar issues like ZalantheSophia (and as you already noted as known), having the hands of Shepard (and various others, especially Traynor) in low Res breaks the Immersion in my opinion, after my first installation in my current playthrough (ca. 250+ mods), I either picked the wrong Shepard TPF or some other mod did interfere (installed one DRESS BLUE part roughly every 50 mods), so for anyone else having similar issues: for me it was more or less fixed with reapplying (in my case the war hero latino CMDR) the Shepard TPF via ALOT after everything else. The low Res Hands seem to originate from the 02of03 (or in my case any other mod interference) but seems to be fixed after reapplying the 03of03 Shepard TPF.

      Hi jay1281

Sorry for the late reply. I am currently busy IRL.

If you want to port it over to LE you have permission. Tell me what you need? I will probably take some time to get back into ME3 modding.

How can I port the mod over to the LE edition? I'm slightly new to modding and I'd like to figure out how, I'm using ME3TMM (Mass Effect 3 Teaks Mod Manager) and the tool Mass Effect Mod Manager, but I still have no idea how to port.

Hey guys, apologies if this is a super ignorant question - I am very unfamiliar with modding etc. Is there a way to get this mod to work with LE3 at present?

Agreed! I really want to see this mod be used on alliance personnel during ME1 and 2 with the updated graphics of Legendary, and to see how far certain characters progress through the ranks and gain prestige.

I really like this mod, I do have one question. The uniforms are gorgeous, but the fact that Hackett doesn’t wear them during certain pre-rendered cutscenes breaks my immersion. I could head canon it that Hackett wears an different version of the uniform because of his high ranking position. Is there a way to install this mod but have Hackett wear his vanilla uniform? Thanks for your answer in advance.

      Hi jdb4402

Sorry for the late reply. With the world turning to s#*! right now, I forgot to check the comments here.

Yes, It is possible, but you need to do some tinkering.

Here is what you can do:
      1. Download and Install  the other HD Alliance Officer mod from the Nexus HR Alliance Dress Blues
?-> This is a High-Res Texture Mod for the Vanilla Dress Blue Outfits. You can skip this step if you only want the low-res vanilla version of Hackett.

      2. Now open the "ME3Tweaks Mod Manager" and go to the Mass "Effect Modder" (it is located under Tools in the top section)

      3. In the "Mass Effect Modder" open the "Texture Manager" for MASS EFFECT 3

      4. Search and Extract the following Textures:
      ?"HMM_ARM_CTHj_DIFF_0x8141169E.dds"
      ?"HMM_ARM_CTHj_NORM_0x7C5B2FAB.dds"
      ?"HMM_ARM_CTHj_SPEC_0xC2D6EFE3.dds"
??-> Save them somewhere on you PC

      5. Now Install my mod and everything else you want to install as normal

      6. When you are finished installing everything and you are ready to play, open the "Mass Effect Modder" and the "Texture Manager" again and replace the textures with the ones you have saved on your computer.

Now you should have everything with my textures but only Hackett has a high-res vanilla texture.

      I hope this helps you.

I don't know if this is a bug or if I'm doing something wrong but I installed this and now EVERYONE in the Alliance is wearing dress blues all the time. How do I get it set up so, for example, Vega and Cortez in the shuttle bay aren't wearing dress blues?

      Hi LadyElvan

Both are part of the Mod. I had to make a decision on when and where they would wear the officer's dress,

Cortez wears the Dress Blue on the Normandy, on the Citadel, and on Shepard's Party BUT he is not wearing Dress Blue during missions and in the shuttle.
Vega wears it all the time but if you have the Expanded Galaxy Mod and the Patch installed you can set his attire back to his Shirt in the EGM Settings menu.

I hope this helps a bit. I always wanted all of my officers to wear formal attire on the ship...
