Hello. In case you are ever interested in making a patch for this mod, it conflicts with the Hairy Sheploo mod.
If Custom Combat Drone Colors is active, Hairy Sheploo will not be active for an Engineer Shepard, but will be active for non-Engineers (so far, have only tried it for male Engineers).
Thanks a lot for this mod regardless! It'd be great if we could have both a fab-looking Shep and combat drone.
Hmm i install it just fine, but my drone doesnt change in game. https://me3tweaks.com/modmanager/logservice/logviewer?logid=49538c8385e89126261027aec7a26263
I never thought i would see this on ME3 but here it is. I did run into a problem. Sadly it doesnt work for me. I installed via MM and manually. Nothing worked.
Hi! I have a few questions for ya, if you don't mind.
1. Do you have any other mods installed? 2. If you do, what order did you install them in? For example, did you install this mod before or after ALOT, if you use it? 3. Where in the game did you test the drone? 3. What companions did you test with? 4. Did you play multiplayer in the same session before switching to a singleplayer Engineer playthrough?
I'm currently working on narrowing down the issue. The ME3 drone seems to be a bit finicky. Hopefully we can solve this!
1. Yes. 2.Mod Manager mods first then some without MM and ALOT last. 3. Eden Prime, Grissom Academy, Earth Beginning Mission. 4. Eden Prime: Liara and Edi, Grissom Academy: Garrus and Liara 5. No Multiplayer
I'm not sure how Multiplayer would be related to Singleplayer, though. The only thing that comes to my mind is that the game might pull the memory from Multiplayer rather then Singleplayer because the powers have the same name. In which case, I suggest renaming the drone power (and export which controls the color) in your mod and giving it a different index. That'll differentiate things for Unreal, not only from MP but from squadmates who have that same power like Tali.
I bring up MP because the only time I've been able to replicate the issue of the colors never appearing is when first playing with a drone in multiplayer, then loading up singleplayer. Renaming the drone exports, you say? I'll try that, thanks for the tip!
Hello, I've always seemed to have issues with this mod, whether it be in ME3 or ME2, it just never seems to work for me. What I really want is the Inverted R2D2 which I've tried many times, I've even reapplied the mod in the mod manager, and haven't yet installed ALOT. As I've read in other comments here I saw at least one other person have an issue with the Full Green option, I've now tried that as well (just so any conflicts are consistent for you) It's almost certainly a mod conflict, I saw someone say something about the ARK mod, so I went out of my way to test this. So I can confirm it IS the ARK mod that somehow conflicts with this one! Works perfectly fine when I remove it. Doesn't explain my issues with the mod on ME2, perhaps similar files are conflicting?
Either way I hope you can now update your description to clarify that ARK mod is incompatible, or perhaps work on a patch for us to enjoy both now that you know what it is exactly!
From a brief glance at some biotic files, I don't think you'd be able to change the colors of biotics using this mod's method. I wouldn't say it's impossible to change biotic colors — it could maybe be done by adjusting biotic materials instead of particles — but I've never attempted it, so I'm not really sure. And with how many biotic abilities there are, it'd be a muuuuuch larger mod.
I'm no expert, but I'm fairly certain that would require making a unique version of every one of Javik's biotic powers. Specifically Slam, Pull, and his grenades.
Hi. Love the idea for the mod. For some reason, I can't get it to work. I've tried installing (full green) through mod manager and changing the values manually. Do you happen to have any ideas? If not, thanks anyway. I use ME3 Recalibrated, EGM, Alot, and some smaller random mods.
Hi! This is worrisome to hear :( I'm currently looking into the problem. If you could answer a few questions for me, that'd really help narrow the issue down!
1. Did you install this mod before ALOT? 2. Where in the game did you test the drone? In ME2, a small number of missions did not recognize custom drone values; the case might be similar in ME3. 3. What companions did you test with? Specifically, did you have Tali out? 4. Did you play multiplayer in the same session before switching to a singleplayer Engineer playthrough?
Any answers you can provide would be really appreciated :)
1. Yes. I installed it before ALOT but after all the other mods. However, I haven't tried only having this mod installed. 2. I tested it at Grissom Academy, the rachni mission with Grunt, and the intro for the game. Didn't work during any of them. 3. I only had Garrus, Liara, and Edi. I don't have Tali yet. 4. I don't play multiplayer but I have the multiplayer files.
It's possible there's a conflicting mod if any them also use multiplayer files.

How curious. I've tested the drone, specifically full green, in those locations and it works without issue.
I can only assume it's a mod conflict, but as far as I can tell, none of those mods touch the file this mod uses. I've already tested with a fair amount of those mods, but once I get back from my trip I'll install each of those and see if there really is a conflict with one of them.
Other than that, I'm not really sure what the issue could be. I've had others use that color successfully... Perhaps there was an error with the installation, for some reason? In such a case reapplying the mod with the Mod Manager could fix it, but since you already have ALOT installed, you'd have to restore the whole game from a backup and reinstall everything. I know that's not a very satisfactory answer, sorry :(
Update: I got it to work with a fresh game installation with some small mods. I'll let you know if it works after installing the rest. I love how it looks!
Update: There is definitely a mod conflict. It stopped working after I installed the rest of my mods (Excluding ALOT). I tried reinstalling the mod again but nothing changed. I'm not sure which but it's definitely one of these:
ME3Recalibrated John's Alternative MEHEM Citadel Epilogue Mod Expanded Galaxy Mod Miranda Mod Ark Mod Omega Hub Better Dreams Bonus Power Pack 1 and 2 Extended Final Anderson Conversation Ken and Gabby Recruitment Restoration Femsheps Armory DLC Armor Mods ME3 Opening Remaster Ashley Marksman Fix
Update: I think the I found the mod conflict. It stopped working after installing the ARK mod. Would it be possible to get a compatibility patch? If not, I understand.
Update 2: It works half the time with Ark mod but it's better than nothing. Thanks for the awesome mod! :D
I'm actually working on restoring Chatika's colors right now! The process is super simple (especially since I already have the color values) but I've been a bit busy since releasing this so it might not be finished for a bit. It's a shame Bioware decided to make her plain orange in 3... But hey, that's what mods are for, right?
Haha you're welcome! Ever since I saw Tali had a custom drone in ME2, I told myself I NEEEEEED one for my Engineer playthrough. It took me ages to figure out which part of the file controls the color, but I finally did it, and now its public knowledge! I'm glad you like it :)

Update: I think the recent update for Ark mod fixed the issue for me.
I have the latest ARK mod and this one installed and it still conflicts

Among all the content, overhaul and patch mods, something as cute as this pops up. :)
Bonus points if you give Tali her unique drone from ME2 back. Her skills should be located in BioH_Tali and the process is the same.
Feel free to PM me if you need any help or guidance, both for this and for anything else in the future.
Thanks for the support, I appreciate it! :)
