The Xbox 360 controller should also work, as it is an XInput device. I have not tested it, but many of my users have reported it works.
Reporting issues with this mod I do not support pirated versions of the game. If you are using one, I won't help you. Generate a diagnostic log from within ME3Tweaks Mod Manager's help menu, and post the link. Include your controller model.

I can't get this to work past the Title screen for some reason. Using a Switch Pro Controller and just the inputs via Steam. It manages to detect my A/B/Start button on the title screen, but they won't work past that (and no other inputs either, besides somehow the back button that opens the console?).
Don't know what I'm doing wrong. No other mods installed. (ME1&ME2 controller mods worked perfectly)
Edit: NVM. A simple PC restart worked. Damn these things..
Edit 2: For some reason I have to restart Steam every time or it doesn't work. I guess I'll have to live with that lol
This would likely be an issue with steam because the game relaunches itself when the exe runs, and so steam will not know that it's launching a game because what it launched has exited. Me1/2 don't seem to have this issue, but me3 is origin only, so that's why this occurs.
I had the same problem. The Steam overlay kept getting applied to the Origin window. I got it to work by adding the mod manager to as a non-steam game and launching that shortcut. Launch the game from the mod manager.
I'm having the exact same problem. ME3 with Steam controller set for Gamepad profile. Start/A/B buttons work when I have to press START, but after that nothing except the trackpad which moves the cursor. But can not click on anything. Tried starting the game from the mod manager, but I think it does not make any difference, since it anyway runs via the EA app (ex-Origin) no matter what. Also tried restarting Steam and the whole system but no help. At least without this mod my controller worked half-way, I could navigate menus and half of the buttons were responsive. Now nothing.
Thanks for this. I have to buy this crap version now just to get the multiplayer. Not that there's much difference between the two besides that. hmm maybe I have the crap version...
When Im playing Mass Effect 3 with the controller mod it can get 20-30 fps on spots and its starting to get a little frustrating. Ive checked my computers usage on Ram CPU and GPU and its not capping in any of those even remotely so I know its not that and ive turned everything to the lowest settings with the config tool as well just in case. Is there a fix somewhere that I didnt see in the description or the comments, thanks in advance.
MP does not work when it is merged, due to some unreal replication rules. So unless you want a merged version that has MP that doesn't work, they have to be split.
Couldn't there be just a backport of mass effect 3 legendary edition controller controls and changed where needed for multiplayer because technically legendary edition still has a lot of multiplayer assets left in the game?
It would still have the exact same problems. When adding the interface something breaks in replication which is all native. It fully works, but as soon as someone tries to join or you try to join someone it immediately disconnects when it tries to do replication. I'm the only person who ever modded MP, I didn't have the tools to debug the issue. Technically with what I know today and advances in tooling it probably could be fixed via a workaround but I don't have interest in modding Original Trilogy anymore.
The reason i still play the original trilogy is because it will have stuff the legendary edition won't because it doesn't have a multiplayer like the ark mod but steam controller support works a bit it's just a pain to bind the correct keys to the correct controller buttons but it wouldn't function like the console version because the pc version lacks the controls for the weapon selection and power selection because they spread them out onto separate keys if had a copy of the console version could technically take the control scheme from that like they did for the original mass effect 2?
Hello. Is there a way to modify the sensitivity of the sticks in the coalesced.bin file or elsewhere? The in-game sensitivity options are a bit too slow for me. Thanks.
AVOID THIS MOD. It broke my game WHILE STILL in character creation, and I searched the post comments for solutions, none of which worked. I disabled and deleted the mod, and when I started the game again, SP Controller support was STILL taking over everything, completely rendering my keyboard and mouse totally useless. Couldn't do ANYTHING. This mod is a game breaker.

Nothing is simple. I installed the mod manager and the mod controller but the game didn't work because system said PhysX was out of date (Lol).
I fix the game with ORIGIN then I launch ME3 again. The game said SP Controller was not authorized. I Launch Mod manager Me3 again and click
on start. ME3 works with the mod 360 controller but the resolution max is 3840 x 2160. It's possible to change settings in Binaries folder
(ME3config).
My OS Win 11 works at 4096x2160 for my samsung TV HDR and the controller is not resize. It doesn't matter, I'm happy to play with my gamepad.
