Hey, first of all I love these breather masks, but somehow my character always wears them, even when you don`t Need a helmet or a mask. Do you know why, or is it maybe supposed to be like that?
Hi, I added the question on the general discussion, but thought to add it here as well. I want the breather with inferno armor but i can't get it to work properly, textures get all messed up. Can you help me? (for femshep)
How are you trying to use the Inferno Armor with the breather? I'm using MOAM [Mother Of All Mods], where I can set the chest piece to anything (including the Inferno Armor), which allows me to change the headgear to whatever I want. I used this method to quickly replicate what you said, and I see no problem with the texture on my end: http://i.imgur.com/aSNjhwc.png
One of my suspicions is that you might be playing on very high resolution, which means you get to see the breather up close in very high quality. I know the breather's texture is messed up by default, but at the time I was playing on either 1280x1024 or 1360x768 and I deemed it the grey and blurry texture acceptable. Once I started playing on 1920x1080 however, it was easier to notice the problems with it. If you're playing on high resolution (maybe even higher than mine), this could be one of the reasons for the messed up texture, and if so, I apologize for the inconvenience but unfortunately I don't know how to fix it.
My other suspicion is that if you're not playing high resolution, it might have to do with the method how you're trying to make the Inferno Armor work with the breather. As I said, I'm using MOAM and it seems to work as intended. If you aren't using it already, I'd definitely recommend MOAM (armors+casual appearance if you're not interested in the other aspects of it).
If you could take a screenshot, I'd appreciate it if you uploaded it here. I don't know if that will help us solve the mystery, but maybe someone else has come across a similar issue and could chime in. (Also sorry for wall of text)
Edit: Have you tried both female breathers by the way? The Liara version probably has better texture as I used ELE08's assets.
Ok, I found a workaround i was happy with, relatively, and that's editing coalsesced to hide headgear altogether for inferno armor, so i can't take screenshot. But to explain my issue better, because i'd still like to get breather to work.
I'd decided to use Inferno which fits my playstyle well, but I hate the look (the helmet most of all), and changed it with one of ashley's armor retextures.
And when i changed UPK model for the helmet with braether and installed textures as I usually do trough texplorer.
BUT once I ran the game it seemed that it was using Armor's and not helmet's textures.
I just wanted to say that I'm not using MOAM presently, and i do play in 1920x1080 res, and I did try Liara's.
I must be doing something wrong, but in some of the cutscenes, It shows Shepard taking off his n7 helmet. Is this mod supposed to work this way or is he supposed to take off the breather instead?
Especially in the intro scenes with Mars, Shepard will always be holding the helmet with a funky texture when taking off headgear. But if I remember well that's less of an issue throughout the whole game. I'm not too experienced with modding so I don't know if it's possible to fix that. I personally found it an agreeable issue as it's pretty rare to see the animation of taking off the headgear after Mars. So yeah, as far as I can tell the mod is working as it should.
The "Optional female breather" download contains both the .pcc file ready to use, and the .psk file for manual replacement. It's the "Breathers" main download where the textures are also included, not just the mesh files. I made this so with the assumption that the main download will be downloaded anyway because that's the only one containing the male version.
But anyway, you should find the optional female breather .pcc in the optional download, or if you're looking for textures, then they're in the main download.
This is a wonderful mod, but when I installed it and started a new game, I managed to get to the part where you go to mars. But the loading screen right before you land on mars in unending! This only happened when I installed your mod, and I made the mistake of not backing up the normal files I'll be sure to back them up next time. Do you have any idea what could be causing this? The only thing I can think of is when I used the TOCbin updater, it said there were no updates available after I installed the mod.
That's strange, if you installed both genders it should say two files to update... are you sure you installed the right files in the right folder? I'm not sure what else could cause this or where could I possibly look it up. :S All I can do is (since I restarted playing all the ME games) to install these mods and see if I get the same thing.
I'm not sure if it'd help but you could also try to deactivate Origin in your game, if you have the game on that platform that is. Also you can relatively quickly restore files by repairing the game if you do have it on Origin. Or at the least, quicker than reinstalling it.
Edit: Just installed it, works fine for me at Mars, so I'd think that closes out the possibility of the mod not being up to date. You could also try to install it only once you have gone through Mars.
Hi I have a problem. When I install the mod the mask removes the hairstyle on my character. So when I equip the mask my femshep's hair disappears. Is there a a way to fix this or is it part of the mod?
Nevermind I read the instructions. Wow I won't be a "I think I know it all" type of person again and skip the instructions lol
To be honest, I'm unsure what could cause the issue, if Neon could let us know what happened and how he fixed it, I could add the solution to the description. Until something is figured out, perhaps you could check if you've done everything according to the instructions? If you haven't, of course.
Thank you for the speedy reply! I thought I had followed the instructions, but I didn't see the bit about having to edit the coalesced file. Anyway, I got it working! For anyone who is getting the same problem, make sure you read the instruction file that Margerard included, THOROUGHLY. Changing the hidehair=false is the most important part. Unless you like a bald Femshep hahha. Thanks again Margerard! Wonderful work! Endorsed!
Thank you as well as for sharing what was the problem, and glad it works! ^^
Also, edited the description. I feel a bit silly for not emphasizing how important editing the coalesced.bin is, hopefully there will be less confusion now.

In all serious though it's a nice mod, there's a lot of stuff in Mass Effect that is unbelievable to say the least.
